Meet Pamela Hearon Hodges
Pam, one of the many talented residents of TGO, specializes in writing Romance Novels specifically, Superromance Novels. Growing up in Paducah, Kentucky, a city known for its Southern values and hospitality, provided her with the inspiration for her characters and the backdrop for her riveting stories. Her final publication, “Gaining Visibility,” clinched the National Readers’ Choice Award and was chosen as a Book Club Pick by Country Woman Magazine. While her journey to publication wasn’t swift, Pam’s persistence proved to be the key to her success as an accomplished writer. Read her story on page 32.
Another Great Weekend Of Shenanigans at TGO
Saturday, March 9 started out with the annual Happy St. Patrick’s Day Golf Tournament - sponsored by Ron Norris. It was a 4 person scramble with 144 entries The best score belonged to the Lucky Charms Flight that included John Blanchette, Jim McCarthy, Ron Wagner and Wayne Condra. There was also the Southern Classic Car Parade that cruised around TGO - led by Jerry the Ice Cream Man. Residents viewed the cars afterward and enjoyed some soft serve ice cream. The Nature Center also held their annual Spring Festival - showcasing several exhibits and offering a great barbeque lunch by Skinny’s Famous Barbeque. You’ll find photos throughout this issue.
St. Patrick Day’s Social - Saturday March 16
This might possibly be one of the best nights of the year - and hopefully, you already have your tickets! This year’s event is brought to you by Jimmy and Michelle Folse and will be starring Johnny Danger Live as the entertainment. It will be a night of rocking, rolling and dancing to your favorite tunes. Remember to bring the food and drinks hopefully enough to share with your friends and neighbors. The doors open at 6:00 pm and Johnny Danger will perform between 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Any questions, call Jimmy or Michelle at 913-707-3984.
