Welcome to our NEW 2018 HOLIDAY BROCHURE Welcome to Memory Lane’s tours for 2018. Whether you are new to Memory Lane or one of those highly valued customers who keep coming back to us, I do hope you’ll like what you read. A surprising amount of it is based on tour feed-back, so please keep it coming. I do read every word of it personally, and I do take notice! For example, many of you have told me how much you like the flexibility in our tours. When you see the excursions included on many of our tours, you won’t see a date attached to them. This is so your driver can take account of local conditions, such as weather, markets or festivals and plan a final itinerary which takes best advantage of all opportunities. Sometimes it’s best not to do things by the book, even if it’s just a matter of changing the order of the pages! Obviously, some tours do require more detailed planning. With these, you’ll see the heading ‘your holiday itinerary’ instead of ‘excursions included’ in the pages that follow. On the other hand, when it comes to customer care, I’m really proud that we do things by the book, often going beyond clients’ expectations and adding pages of our own! Have a look at details of our home pick-up services, for instance. Remember that all our tours are operated by highly professional drivers (I’m proud to be one myself) who will go the extra mile to look after you. On diner tours, you will enjoy the company and services of a second crew-member, the hostess, often someone you know! Sometimes we even take a local specialist guide on board as well. So enjoy your reading, book with confidence and, most importantly, have a great trip. I look forward to seeing you during what promises to be another bumper season.

A few things to keep in mind ... Diner Executive Tours Our diner executive coaches are full-sized vehicles but with fewer seats than usual. The space saved is taken up by a kitchen and servery. Here the hostess prepares freshly made light lunches, with copious quantities of tea or coffee. She serves you at your seat. All you have to do is enjoy the experience. Oh yes, and the hostess does the washing-up, too. You see, there are no plastic cups in our diners, just the real thing like you’d want for your guests at home! Obviously all this takes time. On the first and final days we stop, often off the motorway, for you to provide your own lunch. Even on these days, however, we’ll serve you complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits at your seat at some of our stops en route.

Special Meal Arrangements You’ll see the letters SMA against a few tours, rather than the more usual FB (full board) or HB (half board). “Special Meal Arrangements” means extra meals or snacks when in the hotel but not, for example, during coach journeys.

Executive and Continental Tours You’ll have opportunities to buy really good value hot and cold drinks on board. In the UK, lunch stops will often be in reasonably priced outlets away from the motorways. On the continent we do make more use of motorway service areas, but they are generally quite reasonably priced by the standards in the country concerned.

Groups All our prices offer great value. However, we can often make them even more tempting for parties of 20 or more travelling together. Perhaps you like the idea of taking one of our advertised tours and don’t need too many pick-up points. Or just tell us roughly where you’d like to go, and for how long, and we’ll come up with some mouth-watering ideas. Or give us more precise details of your plans

and we’ll just provide the transport. However you approach it, tell us what you want us to do and watch us measure up to expectations. None of our group leaders are disappointed by your response - and there’s no charge for asking!

Single Rooms Demand for single rooms is always very high and we always do our best to get what we can from our hotels. In the price box you will see NOA = NO SUPPLEMENT ON OUR ALLOCATION.

Our Home Pick Up Service I know how much you like the peace of mind our door-to-door service gives you. So, you can look forward to being collected by a friendly driver, usually in a comfortable minibus (we’ve just had to increase the fleet because you like this part so much!) and be taken the often short distance to and from your luxury coach. The driver will even load your luggage for you. By the way, just compare the way we do this with those who collect passengers in a full size shuttle coach, adding several needless hours to passengers’ journeys as they travel huge distances the length and breadth of the country, just to collect a large and viable load. Those of you who live beyond our home pickup service area need not worry. We can usually offer you the same service for a remarkably small additional cost. For overseas visitors we can offer reasonably priced overnight accommodation. We can also arrange for a small number of customers cars to be parked at our depot for those who wish, but cars are parked at your own risk.

Luggage, Walking Aids and Scooters We’d be really grateful if you could manage with ONE CASE EACH! Even if you are traveling as a couple, we’d still be pleased if you could keep this request in mind: TWO SMALL CASES ARE ALWAYS BETTER THAN ONE LARgE ONE FOR TWO. This is partly for the benefit of those of us who make all the luggage fit into the nooks and crannies of coach holds and minibus luggage compartments. But it’s also for you. You see, if your case weighs more than 20kg, hotels are within their rights to refuse porterage. Please be sure to tell us if you’re planning to bring a wheel-chair or other mobility device. We are happy to transport your wheelchair, but due to the limited luggage space it is important that you arrange this when making your reservation. Scooters, We always do our best to accommodate scooters, but they is always a problem getting them on to our feeder cars, so we would request that scooters are brought to the garage the day before departure of your tour, also many resorts have hire centres where you can obtain a hire scooter at a reasonable prices. Please be aware that our drivers are not responsible for any damage to your machine when maneuvering to and from the coach. Please check that your chosen hotel allows wheelchairs.

Hotel Grading We use our own star rating scheme, based on our many years of experience. In practice, it correlates quite closely with that of the motoring organisations.

Bembridge Once owned by George V’s Lord in Waiting, Bembridge Coast Hotel overlooks the Solent. The late Queen Mother came here to watch the yachts racing during Cowes Week. The hotel has a wonderful beach, and is an ideal base for touring the Isle of Wight. lackpool, often head of the table as the most popular resort in the UK, has many attractions along the sea front including the famous Tower that still offers dances every afternoon for a small charge. If you are not a dancer, shops await you.

Park House Long Weekend Special in Blackpool A great long weekend with excellent food and entertainment, calling at Cleveleys for a couple hours on outward day, and the morning in Fleetwood on Saturday. Saturday afternoon is free in Blackpool and on Sunday we take an excursion to the Lake District. Monday we depart for Southport to spend time for shopping before we head for home. Excursions included in the tour are: On day 2 we depart after breakfast to the City of Exeter for sightseeing and shopping. Early afternoon we head along the coast to Dawlish in search of their beautiful black swans and maybe an ice cream before we travel along the pretty coast to Babbacombe. Day 3 and breakfast serviced we head off to Paignton where you will join the steam train to journey through the pretty Dart Valley to Kingswear. ritain’s first holiday resort occupies a fine position on the Yorkshire coastline with two magnificent bays and a headland topped by a castle. The resort is steeped in a thousand years of history and is surrounded by beauty.

On day 1 we head east over the Pennines to York where we have time to explore and maybe have a little lunch before we travel on to arrive at the hotel around 3pm. Day 2, after breakfast we head to Pickering where there is time to explore and maybe take a little lunch. We join the North Yorks Railway for the 2pm steam train to goathland. This was Aidenfield in the TV series Heartbeat. We travel back through the North Yorkshire Moors Park to our Hotel via Slieghts. On day 3, we visit Whitby. Our first stop will be Whitby Abbey high above this famous town. We will spend an hour here to enjoy the superb views so bring your camera. Day 1: We travel across country stopping at Springfield Gardens for lunch before passing Kings Lynn and heading to the Le Strange Arms set in a wonderful location by the sea.

t Agnes is a picturesque village on the spectacularly beautiful Atlantic coast of Cornwall. Steeped in mining and maritime history the village now contents itself with providing a warm welcome for tourists, many of whom return year after year. They clearly feel, as we do, that it’s a great base.

Our visits include Port Isaac famous for Doc Martin, Padstow for Rick Stein’s restaurant, St Ives, Truro and a day at the Eden Project often called the sixth wonder. Our excursions include a full day to Eden Project (please note there is easy access for all), a shorter day with a visit to Truro Cornwall’s only City, Port Isaac - we start with plenty of time to explore where most of Doc Martin is produced and in the afternoon we spend our time in Padstow. On another super day we visit St. Ives and enjoy a pleasant drive along the coast.

Rosemundy Hotel is in the village of St Agnes. Rooms vary in size but all are comfortably furnished and have all the facilities you would expect. The hotel stands in its own secluded and sheltered grounds with a heated outdoor pool and even has a grass amphitheatre remaining from an earlier existence. he Isle of Man is simply magical, an enchanted journey back in time that somehow still feels modern. The island is peppered with stone churches, castles, forts and intricately carved Celtic crosses, all in varying states of preservation.

The tour starts with a leisurely drive to Morecambe for a lunch stop before joining the early afternoon sailing to Douglas where we transfer to our sea front hotel. There is entertainment most evenings. Our excursions include St Johns for the Tyndwall ceremony, and in the afternoon we visit Peel. The next day we visit Port Erin and the Sound and on our ﬁnal day we go to Ramsey via Snaefell before returning to Laxey and Douglas on the The Manx Electric Railway. Dumfries & Galloway

he first thing you’ll notice about Dumfries & Galloway is just how beautiful this lowland part of Scotland is. From the rocky and sandy Solway Coast looking out for miles across the sea, to the lush green inland forests and hills, it’s simply amazing.

On day 1, we travel north with suitable stops on route. After we cross the border we follow the coast taking in some interesting visits arriving at the Cairndale around 4.30pm. Day 2, travelling west and along the coast we visit Wigton, Scotland’s book town. Later we visit the gem Rock collection at Creetoun, here we have a light lunch included in the tour price and a chance to see this unique collection. From here we travel through the Galloway Forrest Park to New Galloway finally stopping in Castle Douglas.

Perthshire

ake in the region’s breathtaking variety, from its serene glens and endless expanses of lush forest, to its bleakly beautiful moors, rushing rivers and tumbling waterfalls.

High Peak of Luxury in the Highlands On day 1 we head north stopping for lunch in Moffat before reaching Crieff mid afternoon. Day 2 and we take a guided tour and tasting at the world-famous grouse Whisky Distillery, glenturret, near Crieff. Day 3 and a fabulous day awaits. The Highlands and Six Lochs Tour before free time in the historical town of Inveraray.

Day 4 is a day at leisure to explore Dumfries.

Day 4 is Perthshire & Scone Palace. Before proceeding to Scone, we stop at two of Perthshire’s most well known towns; Dunkeld and the Victorian Spa town of Pitlochry. Afternoon is spent at Scone Palace absorbing 1500 years of colourful history.

Day 5 and we sadly depart this fine hotel with suitable stops on our journey home.

Day 1 and a prompt start as we head north with suitable stops en-route to reach Ardrossan for the 3.20pm sailing to The Isle of Arran always known as Scotland in Miniature. Leaving the ship we head to the BW Kinloch Hotel and 4 nights of luxury.

Day 1 we head north stopping at Moffat for an early lunch. Then passing Perth we follow the Firth of Tay to Dundee and Arbroath to our hotel in Montrose. On day 2 we visit glamis Castle & gardens to admire the castle’s stunning architecture and enjoy the grounds and gardens. Returning via the “The City of Discovery” - Dundee and the coast road visiting the famous golf town of Carnoustie. Day 3 firstly we visit the nearby city of Brechin before travelling to the seaside resort of Arbroath with its picturesque working harbour. Famous for its Smokies, these will be on our menu during our stay at the Park Hotel. Day 4. Aberdeen and Wildlife Cruise. The “Granite” city is Scotland’s third city boasting beautiful architecture and cultural gems. With time free before joining our covered cruiser into the North Sea to see some of Scotland’s amazing wildlife. Returning along the scenic coastal road passing medieval Dunnottar Castle. Day 5 is a day of leisure. Day 6: Sadly we leave for home.

Days 2,3,4. We have 2 excursions by coach, these are very laid back, slow and easy with many photo stops and places to explore. One taking in the south of the Island including the Cheese Factory, Kilmory Lagg and Lamlash. Another taking in the North visiting Lochranza and Brodick Castle. The third day we will split in to two groups for our off road Safari by the unique Mercedes Unimog. Some of our guests have done this more than once and still enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest and the wildlife. There is nothing anywhere to match this. While a group is out the other half spend free time in Blackwaterfoot. Day 5 and sadly we head to the port and our ferry crossing to the mainland for our onward journey with suitable stops along the way arriving back in the Northwest late afternoon.

Romantic Rhineland, Austria & The Heart of Europe Day 1: The adventure begins with a pleasant drive into Yorkshire and the City of York. Here we have time for a little lunch and sightseeing. Mid afternoon we depart for Hull and our overnight cruise ferry to Rotterdam. We include low berth inside cabins and dinner and breakfast (upgrades to outside cabins are available at £8 per person in twin usage, single cabin upgrades are not available on this crossing).

Day 4: We leave Boppard early and travel south with stops along the way, we will reach Schaffhausen in Switzerland early afternoon. Here we view the Rhine Falls, claimed to be the largest falls in Europe. We then travel on through Switzerland for about 125km with glimpses of Lake Constance as we head to Austria and Vorarlberg and on to Hotel Weisses Kreuz in Feldkirch to be greeted by Thomas and his staff for our 5 night stay.

Day 2: We leave the ship about 9am and cruise through Holland to Germany following the River Rhine most of the way. We take one stop during the morning as we hope to arrive at the superb water’s edge Belle Vue Hotel early in the afternoon. You will have time to explore before dinner. We have two nights dinner bed and breakfast at this fine hotel.

Day 5 : A day at leisure today. We give you a local bus ticket to the city centre where you can have a short guided tour of the city and visit the castle.

Day 3 : On today’s excursion we follow the Rhine Gorge crossing the River at St Goar and climbing to The Loreley for excellent views of the Rhine and for a coffee.

Day 9: Sadly it’s time to head for home. We say goodbye to Thomas and his staff and head north to Saarlouis for our overnight stop which includes dinner, bed and breakfast.

Afterward we head on to take the view from the Niederwalddenkmal, before we stop for lunch in the fascinating town of Rüdesheim. At the heart of Rüdesheim’s old town visitors can find the charming Drosselgasse, a cobbled street filled with historic buildings, restaurants, bars and shops. The Drosselgasse attracts more than three million visitors on a yearly basis due to its authentic and magical atmosphere. At 144 meters in length, the street is lined with some of the city’s best entertainment venues where you can enjoy regional dishes and wines as well as energetic live bands. From local to brass music and current charts, visitors are sure to find something to enjoy. Mid afternoon we recross the river and return to the Belle Vue. Tonight before dinner you will be invited to the hotel’s wine cellar for tastings.

Day 10: Still heading north we reach Rotterdam in time for our overnight crossing with dinner & breakfast and our inside low berth cabins.

oised on the crucial frontier between northern and southern France, the region was once of immense strategic importance. Kings, queens, dukes and nobles came here to establish feudal castles – that’s why this fertile river valley is sprinkled with hundreds of France’s most extravagant fortresses.

Chinon Day 1: We head south normally stopping at Newbury for lunch continuing to Portsmouth where we join our overnight ferry to St Malo. Dinner, breakfast & low berth cabins are included. Day 2: Leaving the cruise ferry about 0900 we head to Nantes, a fine city on the Loire River. time for sightseeing and lunch, then in the afternoon we follow the river to our hotel in Chinon Day 3: Our ﬁrst full day excursion will take us on a scenic drive north along the Loire, to the spectacular Château Villandry, where you will have time to explore this historic castle and it’s outstanding gardens. The Loire Valley is often referred to as the garden of France and many people think that Château Villandry has the best garden of the Loire Valley. The château was originally built in 1536, on the site of an earlier stronghold, and has been refurbished and embellished many times over the years. After our visit here we head in tours over lunch time. This afternoon we call at Château De L’Aulee to the vineyard, where we will visit both the old and new parts of the winery with an informative talk on the production of wine, ending with a tasting of 4 of the wines produced. From here we return to our hotel Day 4: Our second full day excursion will take us north along the Loire, and a visit to the Château Amboise, set imposingly above the town of Amboise, on the banks of the Loire. The Château has been home to French Royalty in it’s history although the substantial building that you will see is only one fifth the size it was at it’s peak. Enjoy the panoramic views of the town, gardens and river from the top of the Château. You will have some free time to explore the town of Amboise and enjoy some lunch before we take a pleasant drive back along the Loire to Chinon.

Day 5 : Our third day excursion takes to our visit to Le Village Fromager (cheese maker) where we’ll see their process and have some samples plus the chance to purchase the cheese. From here we travel on to Angers (Wigan’s twin town) with stunning castle, cobbled streets with charming old buildings all waiting to be discovered. Day 6 A day at leisure in Chinon or just relax or take in the hotel pool. Day 7: We head north to St Malo where we will arrive early afternoon. Bridgwater, Taunton Guy Fawkes Illuminated Carnival The Guy Fawkes Carnival - there is nothing like this in the north of England. The town’s roads are closed to all traffic and the parade begins. There are up to 50 illuminated ﬂoats, each one decorated with 1000’s of lights and they all have a different theme. Most will have dancers on board who will be dressed to suit the theme of the cart. These ‘carts’ are built by volunteers and cost thousands of pounds. Bridgwater is one of a number of parades which raise as much money as possible for charities. The parade takes about 90 minutes to pass any point, you will be amazed at the warmth that radiates from them as they pass you by, and to make it easy for you we include grandstand seats which are covered to protect you from the weather.

Cumbria - The eastern part of the county is moorland with some great walks and is close to the border with Northumbria. To the north of both counties is Hadrian’s Wall built by The Roman Emperor Hadrian. The whole area is very scenic and a pleasure to drive through.

Dumfries and galloway is a huge pretty area of South West Scotland with beautiful scenery at every turn.

Elegant Llandudno is the largest resort in Wales. Stunningly situated between the great and Little Ormes, Llandudno has two wonderful beaches. It has a lively and bustling town centre with broad streets and fascinating Victorian verandas.

Day 1: After our door step pick ups we head north with a coffee stop along the way. We then stop in Penrith for a little lunch before traveling up to the Spa for around 2.30pm. We hope to have you all checked in for 3pm.

Day 5: We leave Scotland today and journey home with a stop for lunch. There is a great entertainment programme and full leisure facilities (don’t forget your swimming gear) set amongst some wonderful scenery which we will be exploring.

Day 1: We travel down to Llandudno where we plan to have a relaxing day. After lunch there is time to unwind before meeting in the Embassy Ballroom for drinks and a bit of fun guessing the weight of the Christmas cake. Dinner will be followed with dancing and evening entertainment. Day 2: After breakfast Father Christmas visits with presents and then a fun treasure trail. A traditional Christmas Day lunch will be served with entertainment to follow. For the evening meal we enjoy the Chef’s candlelit buffet followed by dancing and music. Day 3: After breakfast we enjoy games and a Christmas quiz. Our lunch is followed with fun entertainment and afternoon tea. Once the evening meal is served there is a themed fancy dress party - with games, music and entertainment. Northern Spain and Costa Verde Portugal This tour is dinner, bed and breakfast throughout with some extra meals and samplings. All meals include wine (except on board ferries) and all visits are included in the tour price. Our ferry crossings include low berth cabins and dinner and breakfast on board. A fully escorted and relaxing two centre tour with NO long days motoring, staying firstly at a former Palace in Santillana del Mar a pretty village in Northern Spain. From here we spend two days touring this fantastic area of Spain and visits include a full day in the stunning Pico de Europe Mountains, a half day exploring local villages and towns and time at leisure. We then travel on to Hotel Meira in Vila Praia de Âncora. The annual festival starts tonight. Our guide Ken will keep you informed of what to see and where. OBERAMMERGAU & THE PASSION PLAY + 2020 Every ten years this small town stages the passion play a very moving play about Jesus and the Crucifiction. Everything around the town and the play is organised by the Passion Play office. We have ours confirmed now with our first deposits paid to confirm our space. After the 3 day stay in the Oberammergau area we have added a superb hotel The Astoria at Lake Maggiore, Italy. We have used this hotel before and know that it is superb, we will be producing a leaflet shortly and we are now taking advance booking and staged payments for this event. The tour will be via North Sea Ferries with over night stops so there will be no overnight coach travel. BONDED COACH HOLIDAYS TRADING CHARTER 1- FINANCIAL PROTECTION Your contract is with Memory Lane Travel. Our Trading Charter and Booking Conditions set out clearly and simply the responsibility we have to you and in turn, you have with us, when a contract is made. When you book a holiday with us, which doesn’t include a flight, the money you pay us for the booking will be protected by the Bonded Coach Holidays Group of the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK Ltd, this is a Government approved consumer protection scheme. Please see the BCH Consumer Guarantee at www.bch-uk.org. There is no financial protection if you purchase just transport or accommodation-only from us. 2- BOOKING AND PAYMENT When a booking is made, the ‘lead name’ on the booking guarantees that he or she is 18 or over and has the authority and accepts on behalf of the party the terms of these booking conditions and pays the deposit indicated in the brochure. After we receive your booking and all appropriate payments, if the arrangements you wish to book are available, we will send you a confirmation invoice within 14 days. A binding agreement will come into existence between us when we dispatch this invoice to the ‘lead name’. Please check the confirmation carefully to ensure all the information is correct. This contract is governed by English Law, and the jurisdiction of the English Courts. Single occupancy of rooms, when available, may be subject to a supplementary charge and these will be shown in the brochure. You can book by paying a deposit for each person named on the booking but our commitment is always conditional upon the balance being paid as below; Deposit £50.00 per person The balance of the price of your holiday must be paid at least 8 weeks before your departure. If you book within our balance due period, you will need to pay the total holiday cost at the time of booking. If the balance is not paid in time we reserve the right to cancel your holiday, retain your deposit, and apply the cancellation charges set out in the paragraph below. The date of cancellation will normally be the date we receive your written confirmation that you intend to cancel or 15 days after the balance due date, whichever comes first. Where optional items are purchased as part of the holiday, these are payable on the balance due date except where items, such as theatre tickets, have been specifically purchased for you. In this case the cost may be payable at a separate date notified to you and will not normally be refunded unless we obtain a refund from the supplier we use. 3-BROCHURE ACCURACY Although Memory Lane Travel make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the brochure information and pricing, regrettably errors do sometimes occur. You must therefore ensure you check the price and all other details of your holiday with us at the time of booking and when you receive our confirmation invoice

and taxes (including the rate of VAT). Even in these cases we will absorb the cost equivalent to the cost of first 2% of the holiday price. Amounts more than this plus £1 administration fee and Travel Agents commission will be surcharged to you. If this means the total cost of the holiday increases by more than 10% then you are entitled to cancel your holiday and receive a full refund of all monies paid except any insurance premium and amendment charges. If you exercise the right to cancel we must receive written notice within 14 days of the date of the surcharge invoice. The currency exchange rate used in the holiday costings are based on rates as at 1st December 2017 6- IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING If, after our confirmation has been issued, you wish to change to another of our holidays or change departure date, we will do our utmost to make the changes, but we cannot guarantee to do so. However, notification must be received in writing at our offices from the person who signed the booking form, at least 8 weeks before departures. This must be accompanied by a payment of £10 to cover our administrative costs, plus costs we incur in making the amendment. Alterations may not be able to be made within 4 weeks of departure and any such request for an alteration will be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and will be subject to the cancellation charges set out in paragraph below. Some arrangements cannot be changed without paying a cancellation charge of up to 100% of the ticket cost. 7- TRANSFERRING YOUR BOOKING You can transfer your booking to somebody else but the person must satisfy all the conditions of the holiday and this change must be made before departure. This transfer will cost £10 plus reasonable costs to make the transfer. You will remain responsible for ensuring payment. This is in addition to (and does not affect) the separate responsibility of the transferee to us. 8- IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY You or any member of your party may cancel your holiday at any time provided the cancellation is made by the person signing the booking form and is communicated to us in writing via the office who made your original booking. You must pay cancellation charges to cover our administration costs and to compensate for the risk of us not reselling the holiday. Your cancellation will take effect from the date on which we receive your written confirmation of your cancellation. You must also return any tickets or vouchers you have received. A reduction in room occupancy may increase the charges for the remaining passengers by the application of supplements for low occupancy of rooms. Where bought in supplies, such as ferries, hotel accommodation etc have been bought in on your behalf, and where the terms and conditions of the supplier are non-refundable, these products will be charged to you at the full retail rate. If this applies, the non-refundable items will be deducted from your holiday costs and the following scale of charges will be applied to the remainder:

4- OUR PRICING POLICY Memory Lane Travel endeavour to ensure that the most up to date and correct prices are shown in our brochure. Occasionally, an incorrect price may be shown, due to an error. When we become aware of any such error, we will endeavour to notify you at the time of booking (if we are then aware of the mistake) or as soon as reasonably possible. We reserve the right to cancel the booking if you do not wish to accept the price which is applicable to the holiday. Local Authorities in many towns and cities throughout Europe have introduced new tourist taxes which must be paid directly to the hotel by all guests in person. These taxes are not included in our prices but we will notify you when applicable. Holiday prices include all travel, hotel accommodation and meals as specified in the holiday description and VAT payable in the UK where applicable. The price of the holiday will not be subjected to any surcharges except those arising from exchange rate changes, transportation including the price of fuel, air & ferry operator fares and tolls, embarkation or disembarkation fees at terminals, duties

(AND BOOKING CONDITIONS) 9- ALTERATIONS TO YOUR HOLIDAY BY US We hope that we will not have to make any change to your holiday but, because our holidays are planned many months in advance, we sometimes do need to make minor changes. We reserve the right to do this at any time. We will let you or your booking agent know about any important changes as soon as possible. If after booking, and before departure, we make a major change to your holiday, you will have the option of withdrawing from the holiday without penalty or transferring to another holiday without any charge. In either case, we will pay you compensation, according to the scale set below. A major change includes the time of your departure or return time by more than 12 hours, a change in departure point, location of resort or type of hotel, a change in cross channel travel. IMPORTANT NOTE Compensation will not be payable if the holiday is cancelled because the number of persons booked is less than the number required, or for events beyond our control, which include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity and its consequences, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, health risks and pandemics, unavoidable and unforeseeable technical problems with transport for reasons beyond our control or that of our suppliers; hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, and any other similar events. You are also advised to check with The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Advice Unit regularly at www.fco. gov.uk/travel prior to travel. All holidays operate if the minimum number of participants is met. However, in no case will we cancel your holiday less than 2 weeks before the scheduled departure date, except where you have failed to pay the final balance or because of force majeure (force majeure means an event which we or the suppliers of the services in question could not foresee or avoid and is therefore beyond our control) 10- OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU We will endeavour to ensure the holiday which you book with us is supplied as described in our publicity material and the services offered reach a reasonable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and/or omissions of our employees, agents and suppliers except where they lead to death, injury or illness. Our liability in all cases shall be limited to a maximum of twice the value of the original holiday cost (not including insurance premiums and amendment charges). We accept responsibility for death, injury, or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of our employees or agents together with our suppliers and sub-contractors, servants and/or agents of the same whilst acting within the scope of, or during their employment in the provision of your holiday. We will accordingly pay to our clients such damages as might have been awarded in such circumstances under English Law. In respect of carriage by air,

sea, tunnel and rail and the provision of accommodation our liability in all cases will be limited in the manner provided by the relevant international convention. If we make any payment to you or any member of your party for death or personal injury or illness, you will be asked to assign to us or our insurers the rights you may have to act against the person or organisation responsible for causing the death, personal injury or illness. This clause does not apply to any separate contracts that you may enter for excursions or activities during or outside of your holiday. If you or any member of your party suffer death, illness or injury whilst overseas arising out of an activity which does NOT form part of your holiday, we may offer guidance and where legal action is contemplated and you want our assistance, you must obtain our written consent prior to any proceedings (We limit the cost of our assistance to you or your party to £5000 per party) 11- IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT If you have a problem during your holiday, please inform your Tour Manager, your Driver or the relevant Supplier/Resort Representative immediately who will endeavour to put things right. If your complaint cannot be completely resolved locally, you must complete a Holiday Report Form which can be obtained by your Driver or local Representative, which you should keep. If you remain dissatisfied please follow this up within 14 days of your return home by writing to Memory Lane Travel giving your original booking reference number and all other relevant information, including the reference of the Holiday Report Form. It is therefore a condition of this contract that you communicate any problem to the supplier of the services in question AND to our Representative whilst in resort and obtain a written report form. If you fail to follow this simple procedure, we cannot accept responsibility, as we have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify the problem. Should your complaint not be resolved and you wish to pursue the complaint further the Bonded Coach Holiday Group have an Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme and full details are available from BCH/ CPT. WC2A 1QS 12- OUR COACHES-SEATING ARANGEMENTS We will always use our reasonable endeavours to provide a coach to the specification in our brochure or advert, but reserve the right to substitute an alternative vehicle should there be unforeseen circumstances. There is a seating plan but in some cases, operational reasons may require a coach with a different configuration. We reserve the right to alter a coach seating plan and allocate seats other than those booked. Single passengers may be required to share a double seat with other single passengers. When your booking is confirmed, you will be given a choice of seats that are available at that time. Specific seats will not be allocated on coaches operating a feeder service between joining points and main holiday departure points or on coaches that carry out transfers between airports, seaports etc. If you feel that you require two seats, then these must be purchased in advance at the time of booking. If you fail to do this and it transpires that he seat allocated is insufficient for your needs and the is no alternative seating available, then you will be refused access to the coach and any payments made will be liable to forfeiture. 13- HOTEL FACILITIES Some hotel facilities and entertainment may be withdrawn for routine maintenance or be subject to seasonal availability and provision of the facilities cannot be guaranteed. Single occupancy of rooms may be subject to a supplementary charge. 14- HEALTH AND SAFETY In some foreign countries, standards of infrastructure, safety and hygiene may be lower than those to which we are accustomed in the UK. You should therefore exercise greater care for your own protection. There may be countries that we visit that have special medical requirements for tourists. These regulations are

If you are not sure of the health requirements for the country you are visiting, you are advised to check with your own GP before travelling. If you are planning to undertake a journey of more than three hours, you should consult your doctor, if you have ever had DVT, pulmonary embolism, a family history of clotting conditions, cancer or treatment for cancer, stroke, and heart or lung disease or If you have had major surgery in the past three months.

You must tell us if you have an existing medical condition, disability or complex need that may affect your holiday or other group members’ enjoyment of it, before you book your holiday. We reserve the right to request a doctor’s certificate confirming the passenger is fit to travel. If, in our reasonable opinion, your chosen holiday is not suitable for your medical condition or disability, we reserve the right to refuse your booking. You are responsible for bringing with you the proper clothing and equipment, which we advise you about in our printed trip information. We want you to enjoy your holiday and will help you select an appropriate trip.

We reserve the right to refuse any booking in the absence of a doctor’s certificate confirming that you are fit to travel. Where we provide comfort stops you are encouraged to walk around. Exercise reduces any discomfort, which may be caused by periods of immobility. SMOKING is not allowed on our coaches (including E-Cigarettes) and we do not allow pets or any other animals, although we accommodate registered assistance dogs, but not on overseas holidays. 15- TRAVEL DOCUMENTS, ITINERARIES, PICK-UP POINTS AND PASSPORTS For all Continental holidays, you will require a full 10-year British Passport (machine readable) valid for the period required for the country or countries you are visiting. If you do not hold a full British Passport or you have any doubts about your status as a resident British subject, you must check with the Embassy or Consulates of the Countries to be visited to confirm the Passport or visa requirements when you book. We cannot accept responsibility if passengers are not in possession of the correct travel documents. For full details on passport requirements, please contact ‘the identity and passport service’ on 0300 222 0000 (www.direct.gov.uk)” You are responsible for ensuring you are at the correct departure point, at the correct time and with the correct documents we reserve the right to modify itineraries to conform with requests from competent authorities both within the UK and abroad. Optional excursions booked and paid for in resort do not form part of your booking. Admission fees to buildings may not be included in the price of the holiday, please check. 16- SPECIAL REQUESTS All special needs and requests should be entered on the booking form. These cannot be guaranteed except where confirmed as part of our holiday commitment to you and are detailed on your holiday booking confirmation. We are keen to ensure that we plan the arrangements for your holiday so that special needs and requests can be accommodated as far as possible. If you will need assistance, or may be unable to fully enjoy all aspects of your holiday you must tell us in advance so that we can maximise your enjoyment of the holiday. We will need to know if you will need special facilities in the hotel, taking part in the excursions or have difficulty boarding and travelling on the coach or other means of transport. Before booking your holiday, you should be sure that you and your party are both physically and mentally capable of completing the itinerary. If you need advice or further information, you should contact our office If you will require a special diet please tell us at the time of booking, or as soon as you are medically advised, together with a copy of the diet. 17- PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES We want everyone to enjoy our travel arrangements. We are happy to advise and assist you in choosing a suitable holiday. But, as some of the accommodation and resorts featured may not cater for even minor disabilities, it is important that, when booking, you advise us of any disability, specific need or complex need you may have and any special requirements that will make sure the holiday is suitable. If a passenger requires personal assistance (for example, assistance with feeding, dressing, toileting, mobilising) then this passenger must travel with an able-bodied

You are responsible for your behaviour and hygiene and the effect it may have on others. If you or any other member of your party is abusive, disruptive or behaves in a way that could cause damage or injury to others or affect their enjoyment of their holiday or which could damage property, we have the right to terminate your contract with us and we will have no further liability or obligation to you. If you are refused boarding on the outward journey we will regard it as a cancellation by you and we will apply cancellation charges. If the refusal is on your return journey, we have the right to terminate the contract with you. We also request that mobile telephones are not used on the coach save for exceptional circumstances. 19- TRAVEL INSURANCE We strongly advise that you take out personal travel insurance for the trip. We have arranged comprehensive travel insurance with Wrightsure insurance, which is outlined below. You must advise us of details of the insurer and the emergency assistance company providing cover and the policy number and 24 hour contact number. The insurance should cover medical and repatriation costs, personal injury, loss of baggage and cancellation charges. If you do not have adequate insurance and require our assistance during your holiday, we reserve the right to reclaim from you any medical repatriation or other expenses which we may incur on your behalf which would otherwise have been met by insurers. You must advise us if you use an alternative insurer, the policy number and 24 hour contact number. 20- LUGGAGE Please restrict your luggage to one suitcase weighing no more than 22 kgs per person. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to luggage unless through our negligence. Please do not leave valuable items in your suitcase when left on the coach. 21- DATA PROTECTION ACT We retain your full contact details and other information in secure files and electronic storage facilities. We may use this information to contact you by mail, telephone or electronic means. We must pass your information on to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements and we take full responsibility for ensuring that proper measures are in place to protect your information. Cleveleys and Ryecroft Hall

Departing 10.30am. Something different today, we take a pleasant drive to Cleveleys arriving just before 11.30 - Noon, please remember that we are going on to Ryecoft Hall at 15.15 so just a little very light lunch. So when we arrive we will be having Angie’s “Quirkey Afternoon Tea. A selection of everything in miniature. We leave about 18.30.

Book in our office or ring and pay with your debit card, at no extra charge. All excursions are pick up and set down on main roads close to your home as practical within our normal area. All pick ups and drop offs are normally completed within 1 hour subject to traffic conditions. Some pick ups are by a feeder vehicle and where the route allows passengers will be first on first off basis. The base time is at Golborne, so some times will be before this time and some will be after depending on the destination.
