Following the phenomenal success of ICE Expo 2025, it is with immense pride and excitement that we welcome you to ICE Expo 2026.
Last year’s event firmly established itself as the largest and most impactful construction and plant equipment show Ireland has ever seen.
With over €15 million in sales and an incredible 6,300 attendees, it brought together the very best of our industry – leaders, innovators, and decision-makers – for a truly dynamic showcase of progress and possibility.
What has been even more remarkable is the momentum that has followed. For only the second year running, the level of interest and exhibitor intake has been nothing short of extraordinary. The support from across the industry has been incredible, and it speaks volumes about the appetite for a platform like ICE Expo. In fact, exhibitor numbers have grown by more than three times, a clear reflection of the confidence and enthusiasm surrounding the event.
This year, ICE Expo 2026 takes things to an entirely new level. We are proud to host over 300+ exhibitors, showcasing more than 450 brands from across Ireland and beyond. Our expanded footprint allows for even more live demonstrations, immersive displays, and groundbreaking innovations that continue to push the boundaries of construction, machinery, and technology.

The Operators Challenge Area in Zone C is home to not one but two must-see competitions. The Connect 4 Challenge puts your skills to the test in one of the most popular features of this year's show, while the Operators Challenge offers a separate hands-on competition for those who want to prove their ability behind the controls. Get involved, take on the challenges, and see how you measure up.
TYRE CHANGING CHALLENGE
Speed, precision, and technique — this is the first ever Tyre Changing Challenge and it's taking place right here at ICE Expo 2026. Located in Zone D, it's set to be one of the standout moments of the show, drawing serious competitors and spectators alike. Get involved or cheer on the action.

Peter Finn —
Pete the Builder
Few people in the Irish construction industry are as well known - or as well regarded - as Peter Finn. A builder by trade and co-presenter of RTÉ's Home Rescue, Peter is also the host of the Behind The Walls podcast, which has become a respected platform for conversation across the building sector.
As Owner and Managing Director of MDS Construction Ltd., Peter's project portfolio speaks for itself. • History – Hours are a useful guide, but the machine’s history is equally important. A five-year-old excavator with one or two careful owners may be in excellent condition, even with relatively high hours. Conversely, a newer machine from a rental fleet may have been operated by multiple users. Understanding whether the machine has been used for general construction, demolition, utilities, or quarrying will give insight into its true condition
• Pins, Bushes and Slew Ring – Wear in pivot points is inevitable, but excessive movement can signal costly future repairs. Start the machine and operate the boom and bucket slowly, placing the bucket on the ground and applying gentle pressure. Check the boom base pin, pivot points, and slew ring, looking for signs of wear. Some movement is normal on older machines, but well-maintained pins and bushes should show evidence of regular greasing
• Exterior Structural Damage – The external condition of a machine often reveals its working life. Look for dents, cracks, or bends in the boom and stick. Extend-

Damage inside the boom or stick can indicate demolition work, while stone chipping around the cab often points to breaker use. Check rear body panels — especially the offside – and examine belly plates for signs of heavy wear
• Hydraulics – Hydraulics are critical. Extend the boom and stick to inspect the cylinder chrome for scratches or burrs, which can damage seals. Check hoses and pipes for leaks or damage. While hoses are inexpensive to replace, rigid hydraulic pipes and components are costly. Also inspect the pump compartment for oil residue or signs of previous repairs
• Hours – The hour meter is a useful guide but should be considered alongside the machine’s overall condition. If the ma-
chine appears more worn than its hours suggest, investigate further. Service filters may indicate upcoming maintenance, and manufacturers may hold warranty service records to confirm hours
• Buckets and Attachments – Attachments can add value. A machine supplied with multiple buckets can save both time and expense, while heavily worn teeth or edges may need replacing. If you plan to use breakers, grabs, or other attachments, ensure the machine has auxiliary hydraulic lines
• Parts and Service Support – Research the manufacturer and model before buying. Even if spare parts are available online, local service support is crucial if the machine breaks down. Mainstream brands usually have strong dealer networks, but regional support can vary
• Tracks – Tracks are a major wear item. Check track pads for depth and alignment, and inspect sprockets, rollers, and idlers. Track chains reveal wear: pins that are no longer round or extended idlers indicate worn bushes. Factor in potential replacement costs when bidding
• Market Pricing – Excavators hold their value well, but price depends on age, condition, service history, attachments, and global demand. Reviewing recent auction results can help establish a realistic bidding range
• Start Your Engine – Always start the machine and let it reach operating temperature. Listen for unusual engine noises and watch for excessive smoke. Check fluids, inspect for leaks, and run the machine through simulated digging cycles. Drive forwards and backwards, turn, and check controls. Inside the cab, ensure gauges, switches, air conditioning, lights, and wipers are working correctly.

Sleator Plant Prepares for ICE Expo 2026 with Exciting SANY Machinery Line-up
As Sleator Plant gears up for its participation at the upcoming ICE Expo 2026 the team have revealed their plans for the eagerly-anticipated showcase of innovative new SANY machinery. The leading equipment supplier will be delighting attendees with the unveiling of two new SANY machines – the first of which will be the 6 metre SANY telehandler, set to have its Irish launch.
In the lead-up to the show, Jonathan Campbell, Managing Director of Sleator Plant, provided Plant & Civil Engineer with a behind-the-scenes preview, saying: “We’re really looking forward to showcasing this construction site machine. The 6m telehandler is fully loaded with everything, in addition to having the shortest turning circle you can get which is great when working in a tight site. This product will be brilliant for the likes of house-builders and the hire industry as well.”
The reveal of the telehandler at ICE Expo is aligning with Sleator Plant’s continued achievements in this arena – and one they’re excited to build on even more.
Jonathan said: “The telehandlers came into market initially at the end of 2024 with the 14m and 18m range. We had phenomenal success during 2025, with our Regional Sales Manager Amanda McNally being awarded Leading Salesperson for Telehandlers in UK & Ireland at the SANY UK & Ireland Dealer Conference.”

“SANY completed a lot of testing and R&D when working on the machine because we’re not looking to just be another micro – we want to be the best micro on the market. There are a lot of features that customers at ICE Expo should be very
excited about seeing when they get up close to it.”
