ARCHITECTURAL WALKING TOURS BY THE DAR ES SALAAM CENTRE FOR ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE (DARCH) Young or old, new to the game or intrepid world traveller - a DARCH walking tour may be exactly what you are looking for! Our walking tours give visitors a chance to look beyond their often chaotic first impressions of Dar and get to know our fascinating city better. All DARCH walking tours are led by professional historians and architecture graduates. We have 6 set tours highlighting different aspects of Dar es Salaam’s cultural and architectural heritage: Old v. New, Colonial Zones of Dar es Salaam, Fallen Buildings, The Evolution of the Streets of Dar es Salaam, Old Dar es Salaam Masterplan and The Textile Tour. We cater to all and are very happy to adjust the walks to suit customers. Tours can be made as long or short as you want. DARCH is a non-profit organisation working to preserve the historic architecture of Dar es Salaam. We are based in The Old Boma – the oldest surviving building in Dar, where we have a Permanent Exhibition on Dar’s architectural history and host temporary art exhibitions.
