NWA Architectural PLANNING AND AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS SLDC are reviewing planning policies and will be requiring a Sustainability Appraisal with all planning applications for new agricultural buildings. There will also be a requirement that new buildings are part of the farm group and any that cannot be will need to justify the location. There also needs to be consideration of highways access in the application. The information required includes details of the farm land holdings, type of land use, stock numbers and purpose of the building. This will of course mean 2 things, firstly an application will take longer to prepare and secondly be more expensive to create. You can comment on this proposal by contacting SLDC until 17th July. Comments and views will be considered but are unlikely to prevent this happening. The relevant policy is DM25, so by all means raise an objection to it, but be prepared for this to become SLDC policy.
