Weekly Report & Newsletter - 10th October 2025 J36 Rural Auction Centre: J & E Nuttall Farm Sale, Saturday 4th October 2025. On Saturday 4th October North West Auctions conducted the dispersal sale of farm machinery and equipment on behalf of long-standing customers J & E Nuttall, Low Bendrigg Farm. Despite storm Amy gripping the northern counties, customers were in attendance from far and wide including Scotland, Wales, Ireland and France. All sale items were extremely well cared for with prices achieved reflecting this. J36 Rural Auction Centre: Show & Sale of Bluefaced Leicester Rams & Females, Monday 6th October 2025. No sign of any blues at this sale! Leicester tups were sought after in all age brackets with a 93% clearance and an increased average on the year! With a good entry forward and gimmer lamb sales behind us, farmers were in red hot form to step on for next year. Over 200 head available and quality in abundance, with some of the biggest names in the job present, a quality show was witnessed. Judging was very kindly undertaken by Mr John Atkinson and Miss Sarah Emmott, who had a huge task in hand. Large numbers came out for both shearlings and lambs with Ian Dixon, Low Newton winning the shearling class and Alec Brown, Macqueston winning the lamb class. The Macqueston flock went on to take overall champion with Jimmy Bell, Cottage taking the Reserve Champion with the second prize ram lamb. The most notable trade of the evening was for the shearlings with an average of £1030 overall Topping this sector was second price shearling from Midlock Farms Ltd making £5500 going to Messrs Ridley, Allenshields.
