PRIME HOGGS Another yard full of Hoggs today greeted with buyers approval and an overall market average today of 385p/kg with over half the entry being heavies/super heavies. A top price today of 473p/kg was achieved by KA Purtill selling Beltex cross, other better end Hoggs 440p/kg to 470p/kg with nice grass finished Hoggs 410p/kg to 430p/kg. Hill bred Hoggs to 413p/kg for Cheviots, 409p/kg Horned, 390p/kg Mules, 385p/kg Herdwicks, 380p/kg Welsh and Swaledale 357p/kg. Vendors must be congratulated on the quality of Hoggs forward today, keep them coming!!
