Weekly Report and Newsletter- 9th September 2022 J36 Rural Auction Centre: Online Machinery Sale, Friday 2nd September to Monday 5th September 2022. This popular sale once again saw both national and international interest with several loads heading across the water to Ireland and Poland. Vehicles once again led the way with a very clean Kubota M7040 tractor with loader achieving £21,900, a JCB Loadall achieved £9,300 and a Volvo EC25 digger £6,800. DAF 7.5T horsebox £6,500 and a MF298 4WD tractor £5,900 and an original Landrover Defender 110 £4,800. Well maintained seasonal equipment always sells well with a Straightman Diet Feeder at £4,000, 12T rear discharge spreader £4000, Bamford Hedgecutter £2,800, hydraulic post knocker £2,700, 2T tipping trailer £2,200, Teagle straw chopper £1,800 and a Major muckspreader £1,650. Livestock equipment sold to a top price of £3,600 for a cattle crush, 2 x 14ft feed troughs £620, molasses tank £540, 15ft sheep race £500, sheep dressing stand £440, portable milking machine £440 and a sheep turnover crate £400. Other items of interest included a Collinson 24T feed bin achieving £5,000, Claas rake £2,700, Ifor Williams 12ft livestock trailer £2,500, 54 x 10ft roof sheets £2,200, flat topper £1,800, cement mixer £1,000, Lunar caravan £800, 5f plough £750.

Lancaster Auction Mart: Weekly Sale of Prime Lambs and Cast Sheep, Monday 5th September 2022. Prime Lambs The weekly sale of prime lambs in Lancaster had an increased entry of 830 forward selling to an overall market average of 233p/kg. The trade today saw well meated lambs continue to be eagerly bid for by a busy active ring of buyers with lean types of lambs getting penalised. Weight continues to be in big demand with lambs in excess of 52kg averaging 244p/kg. The trade peaked at £138 for 55kg Texels from WI&A Atkinson & Son, Bleasdale with heavy weigh Continentals to £134 from RW&FW Rhodes & Son, Quernmore. Followed by £132 from MJ&LC Lund, Quernmore and £131 from R&DL Cornthwaite, Nateby. Better confirmation lambs were eagerly bid for with Texels to 287p/kg or £121 from JR&LA Capstick, Killington. Followed by other Texels to 280p/kg or £126 from J Bargh, Heaton with Oxcliffe. Mule lambs peaked at £114 from WI&A Atkinson & Son, Bleasdale.
