Muddy waters Trace Crossings residents seek relief from stormwater erosion By JON ANDERSON

D

r. Peter DeFranco and his wife bought their property in the Scout Creek section of Trace Crossings in 2014 with hopes of enjoying the lake next to their backyard. But instead, Scout Creek Lake has become the subject of much frustration for them and some of their neighbors. As commercial construction has occurred in western Hoover, erosion problems have repeatedly filled Scout Creek Lake with sediment, leaving them with cloudy water and a muddy mess, preventing them from enjoying the lake.

Feeding Hoover: Power Brands Hospitality Group expands to 10 restaurants in Hoover By GRACE THORNTON For the past three years, a familiar crowd has gathered at Super Chix at Stadium Trace Village on Wednesday nights for trivia. “It’s a big hit; people love it,” said Zeel Zaveri, the restaurant’s owner-operator. “I see the same people coming in every Wednesday, which is always good to see. So now it’s more like family.”

Zaveri said he believes the tight-knit Hoover community is the reason the area has been such a great place for his business to thrive. He believes that about the other nine restaurants in Hoover that are owned and operated by Power Brands Hospitality Group, too.
