WEANING WEIGHT (WW)
All weights are taken at weaning and adjusted to 205 days to allow simple bull comparisons.
YEARLING WEIGHT (YW)
All weights are taken at the end of test and adjusted to 365 days, to allow simple bull comparisons.
WEIGHT PER DAY OF AGE (W.P.D.A.)
All weights at the end of test are used to calculate the bull’s weight per day of age. It covers the entire gaining period to date (on the cow and on feed).
AVERAGE DAILY GAIN (A.D.G)
After a 30-day warm-up period, bulls are put on test to measure their A.D.G. for the next 120 days.
LONG YEARLING S.C.
The bulls extended, palpated and semen tested. All bulls meet industry standards based on breed and age.
CALVING EASE
Calving ease (CE) is a primary concern for many buyers. Birth Weight (BW) is commonly associated with calving ease however, dam and sire structure is equally important. BW also goes beyond genetics and is highly sensitive to nutrition and gestation therefore relying on BW alone can be misleading. Our ratings take all factors into consideration to provide a useful measure of CE.
