Re: EOI - Crane Operator, Advanced Rigger and Advanced Scaffolder (Project Ceres)
Dear Recruitment Team,
I am writing to express my interest in contributing to the landmark Project Ceres as a Crane Operator/Advanced Rigger/Advanced Scaffolder, leveraging my extensive experience in heavy lifting operations, advanced rigging techniques and scaffolding expertise to support the successful delivery of this groundbreaking urea plant. With over fifteen years of experience across mining, construction and oil and gas sectors, I bring a proven track record of technical proficiency, safety-first operations, and a collaborative work ethic to every project I undertake.
My career has been defined by hands-on experience operating and managing heavy-lift equipment and advanced rigging tasks in high-pressure environments. At Norwest Crane Hire, I worked on various Pilbara mine sites, executing dual-lift operations and heavy lifts with cranes up to 650 tonnes. During my tenure at UGL on Barrow Island, I applied advanced rigging techniques using rope access for mechanical installations and steel erection. These roles demanded not only technical expertise but also meticulous planning, adaptability, and unwavering attention to safety protocols.
Safety has always been a cornerstone of my professional ethos. I hold a comprehensive suite of high-risk work licences, including Advanced Rigging, Forklift Operation, Scaffolding Advanced and Work Platforms alongside IRATA Level 1 Rope Access Certification. In every role, I have championed safe work practices by conducting thorough risk assessments, engaging in pre-start meetings, and adhering to compliance standards. My commitment to workplace safety aligns closely with Clough’s values of innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
I have also demonstrated my adaptability and commitment to operational excellence through my experience working on complex projects in remote locations. For example, at Linkforce, I supported large-scale shutdowns across the Pilbara and Gold Fields, managing intricate scaffolding and rigging work to ensure the timely delivery of maintenance and structural upgrades. My ability to perform in challenging conditions has enabled me to develop innovative solutions and foster productive collaborations with multidisciplinary teams, delivering outstanding results in demanding environments.
Beyond my technical capabilities, I take pride in my ability to lead by example and mentor team members to uphold safety and quality standards. As part of my leadership roles, I have conducted safety briefings, toolbox talks and detailed lift plans to ensure alignment with industry best practices. These experiences have allowed me to cultivate a strong understanding of risk management and compliance, further reinforcing my dedication to creating safe and efficient workspaces.
The opportunity to join Clough on a project of this magnitude excites me not only for the technical challenges but also for the chance to contribute to a venture that will bring long-term economic and social benefits to Western Australia. Clough’s commitment to diversity, sustainability, and building a high-performing workforce resonates with my personal values and professional ambitions.

I am writing to express my strong interest in securing an Offshore Crane Operator position with your esteemed organisation. As a highly skilled and safety-conscious offshore professional with over five years of experience in high-risk marine environments, I offer a strong foundation in crane operations, rigging, mechanical systems and well intervention activities. My practical knowledge and adaptability, combined with a proven commitment to operational excellence, make me a reliable asset capable of contributing meaningfully to the success of your offshore operations.
Currently engaged as a Stage 3 Tower Crane Operator and Well Kill Pump Operator with Superior Energy Services in the Bass Strait, I have been responsible for executing critical lifting operations in some of the most demanding and high-risk offshore environments. My responsibilities encompass the safe operation of the tower crane during both routine and non-routine lifts, including tandem and blind lifts, as well as supporting heavy load transfers between vessels and the platform in challenging sea states. I work in close coordination with deck, rigging and marine teams to ensure that all crane movements are meticulously planned, hazard-assessed and executed in accordance with strict lifting protocols and environmental considerations.
In addition to crane operation, I play an integral role in the well intervention team, operating the well kill pump system as part of the production slickline spread. This involves pressure testing, fluid displacement, and maintaining well control integrity throughout critical stages of abandonment and servicing operations. I regularly interpret engineered lift plans and technical drawings, assess the condition of lifting gear, and uphold compliance with permit-to-work systems and isolation procedures. I actively contribute to toolbox talks, pre-starts, risk assessments and emergency drills, ensuring that all lifting operations are carried out with hazard awareness and procedural rigour. Across multiple shutdowns and intervention programs, I have maintained a zero-incident record and earned a reputation for upholding a strong safety culture, driven by personal accountability and team vigilance.
My qualifications and high-risk work licences are comprehensive and up to date, equipping me to perform confidently across a broad range of offshore activities. I hold a current BOSIET certification, as well as licences in Stage 3 Tower Crane Operation, Advanced Rigging, Dogging, Basic Scaffolding, and Forklift Operations. In addition, I have completed Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Dangerous Goods Handling (TAFE Gippsland), Breathing Apparatus, Authorised Gas Testing and Work Management Systems (Permit Holder and Fundamentals). This extensive training portfolio ensures I can contribute safely and competently from day one and adapt to varying operational conditions as required.
I am now seeking to apply my extensive offshore experience, advanced technical capability, and unwavering commitment to workplace safety within a progressive organisation that values professionalism, high performance and continuous improvement. I am particularly drawn to environments where safe systems of work, operational discipline, and team collaboration are not only prioritised but embedded in the organisational culture.
