Vilāpa-kusumāñjali refers to “a handful of flower-like offerings of piteous cries.” The 104 verses are like an outpouring of the deepest longings of the author for attainment of the eternal service of Śrī Rādhā. Given the esoteric nature of the text, His Holiness Śivarāma Swami Mahārāja has carefully penned introductions to each of the three volumes of his Patrāṅkitā commentary on Vilāpa-kusumāñjali to make the readers aware of the seriousness of the subject, and of the qualifications required to enter into the domain of rāgānuga-bhakti. His Holiness has now collated these three introductions and presents them in this, “The Further Awakening of Spontaneous Devotional Service.”
