Cilento Bushland Conservation Reserve THIS secluded tropical rainforest is hidden away in Nambour, and has its very own Waterfall. It’s one of four dog friendly parks. Koala park, Quota Park and Gary Evans Walkway are all lovely short walks. The waterfall’s official name is Robinson Falls named in honour of early settlers Edmund Alfred and Arthur Campbell Robinson. Cilento Reserve was also occupied by the 7th Battery 2/4th field artillery during World War 2. The entrance to the park is a wide green open space. You can enter from either side, I suggest going to the right towards the picnic tables to start your adventure. This trail is a loop and involves stepping on rocks at the end, so it can be a little slippery and muddy especially after rain. Please be very careful if there has been a lot of rain as there may be flooding. Remember - If it’s flooded forget it! We had a lovely time there with our grandchildren. The walk is very easy only about a kilometre long. The waterfall is very picturesque, and I have seen people swimming, although I personally wouldn’t. So take your time to enjoy the sounds of the waterfall, birds singing and the lush vegetation and you might be lucky enough to see some turtles. Afterwards relax in the sheltered BBQ areas and the kids loved the playground. Toilets are also on site.
Happy Hiking and always remember your water, sunscreen and hat.
Pet & kid friendly :)
