“In The Little Mermaid, I was in the Ensemble, so I played many different parts. The best thing was getting close to the cast and meeting new people. I loved joining a family with so much love and care for each other.”

Have you ever been under the sea? Maybe not, but if you saw Independence Theatre and Performing Arts production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, you definitely came close! A few Willowsford residents were a part of the production! Here’s what they have to say:

“I performed the role of Ursula and served as the head of marketing! I loved getting to interpret such an iconic Disney villain in my own way and embody her onstage. Becoming a character alongside a cast of many talented performers is such an amazing feeling. The most rewarding part is seeing the audience members of all ages that enjoyed the show!”

- JACQUELINE LOUH (GRANT) -- THAT’S ME!

“My favorite memory of The Little Mermaid was doing all of the wigs for the cast. It was so fun to do hair. Plus, I got to know my cast mates really well. I love performing because I can share my love of theatre and make amazing friends on the way!!”

- RILEY LUSK (GRANGE)

“In The Little Mermaid, I played Atina, one of Ariel’s mersisters, and I was on the choreography team. One of my favorite memories was hearing the prologue for the first time during our dress rehearsal - it was so magical! I love performing because it’s so rewarding and hearing the audience’s cheers is so special every time.”

- ALLISON CLARK (GRANGE)

“I performed as the understudy for Prince Eric, where we broke our previous matinee record, and also as Chef Louis for the principal cast. I’d say my favorite part was doing a show as a prince and then 3 hours later going on as a crazy chef!”

- CHASE DANZENBAKER (GRANGE)
