A big welcome to our new members: John Shaw of Glenholme who has a Jaguar XK8. Richard Armstrong of Hamurana who has a Norton Commando We look forward to seeing you at all of our events and functions. Name badges. We provide name badges free to all new members. Existing members who have misplaced their badges, see me and I will arrange a new one. Cost is $15. It is important that name badges are worn to all our functions, not only because new members don’t know who we are, but many of us are of an age where memory is slipping. How often do you hear, “ there’s what’s his name”. Maryann Scott has volunteered to be our treasurer and will shortly take over the reins from Sandra Fitzpatrick. Many thanks to both. For the past seven and a half years, Sandra has been extremely thorough in keeping our finances in order and providing clear reports for Terry to present to our committee. It was real team work. They say things go in threes. The kitchen is coming up 25 years old. The stove packed it in last year and we had to replace it. The carpet in the main area was delaminating and has just been replaced. Then last week the fridge compressor seized. To repair it was almost the same cost as a new fridge. Fortunately Noel Leeming’s sale was on so we got a replacement fridge freezer with a third off the normal retail price. Fingers crossed that is the lot for a while. It is with sadness that I advise members of the passing of Shirley Crowe. Our sympathies go out to Maurie and family. At Shirley’s request, there was a private family funeral. 50th Anniversary dinner. Saturday 27th August. 6pm. Millennium Hotel. Diary this event if you haven’t already. The dinner will
