Secretary’s Notes
Attendance was well down at the March meeting due to a number of members being on the HCCNZ’ Brass Era Tour and the Mad Irish Woman’s event. John Morrison has replaced the running board lino on his 1913 Humberette. He also displayed his 1908 Sears Auto-buggy at a recent classic car show. Barry Robert has had some issues with his now club eligible CF Bedford, Rover transporter. Michael Pellow is trying to source a hub puller with external threads for his ’04 Rover. Gavin Welch spoke of his attendance at the Art Deco event in Napier. Some general discussion was held on the location of the 2021 Veteran Run. Barry Birchall is still researching the early history of New Zealand motoring. Sadly the gymkhana event at Mike Courtney’s has been cancelled because of Covid-19, this might have been suitable for Veterans. You will also note that the Committee have decided to close the clubrooms until we know more about the implications of Covid-19, so there will be no section meetings until further notice

I hope everyone is keeping themselves safe and occupied in these strange times. What an excuse to spend your day in the shed with your old car! We will keep you connected through electronic Bulletin and emails, I know most of the section co-ordinators are also keeping you in touch. Both ours and the National Facebook page are also great ways to keep informed. There is now a private Facebook group for the Vintage Car Club, check it out and get yourself joined up. The intent is for it to be the forum for discussion with like minded people, a great platform to reach out if you are stuck with a particular technical problem, or just want to share a story. See you on the other side of this lockdown.
