ven through tough financial times, communities still manage to come together to provide help and raise money for those in need. Charities are part of all our lives, ranging from small groups meeting local needs with few resources, to household name charities operating with budgets of millions. In Northern Ireland we have numerous types of charities available, from mental health illness charities, charities for those with life threatening illness, those suffering from
substance abuse, disabled, the elderly, children and also animal charities to name but a few. Whatever their size or purpose, an essential requirement of all charities is that they operate for the public benefit and independently of government or commercial interests. This month we are taking a closer look at the wide range of amazing charities in Northern Ireland who are helping the community in many different ways.
