Wongai Ball fundraiser a success for school STORY BY KATRINA COATES PICS BY TARI SAGIGI The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School held their annual fundraiser, the Wongai Ball, at the PKA hall on Saturday night. The event was dubbed a huge success, with an almost sell-out crowd enjoying a night of dancing with music provided by DJ Esther and live band First Break. Wai Reka Catering – Sweet Waters provided a selection of delicious cocktail-style food.

Each month our proud sponsor CEQ will pick their favourite Ailan Life entry and the winner will receive a $150 GIFT CARD*to use at any CEQ store! Multiple entries may be submitted, but every entry (or entrant) may not be published. All pics submitted will be considered in the draw for the monthly gift voucher. Winners of the CEQ Ailan Life competition are determined by CEQ. Entries to the Ailan Life photo competition may be used by the CEQ marketing/promotions team as background images for store promotions such as posters, digital noticeboard specials, counter-facing displays (POS) screens, and/or on their website and social media. Entries may also be used in-store to promote the ‘Ailan Life’ competition.
A silent auction was also held with a variety of prizes all generously donated by local businesses Mark Milbourne Construction, Northern Construction, Joey Laifoo, Coral Sea Concrete, Matt Birney Builders, Cape York Camping Punsand Bay, EMVER Partners, ATS Services, Peddellls Ferry and Community Enterprise Queensland. All money raised from the night will be used by the PFA to purchase a variety of resources for the school. The PFA said they were extremely grateful to the community for their overwhelming support of this event.
