also had 10 points each. Dolphins guard, Teyahna Bond, did not suit up for the game. Cairns Marlins had a scare and nearly lost to lowly placed Rockhampton Rockets but they managed to score in the last 10 seconds of the game to win, 91-90. Marlins moved into the top four on the ladder. Townsville Heat finally got another win, 101-69, against the Rockets. Guard, Michael Cedar, was consistent and collected 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. It was a memorable night for the Heat as they hadn’t won a game since Round 3. This weekend the NBL1 will celebrate Indigenous communities with the First Nations Round as part of NAIDOC Week.

Top seed Gold Coast had a convincing win against North Gold Coast, 115-88. Rockhampton Cyclones headed north to play Townsville and Cairns and the women’s team had convincing wins against Flames (67-47) and Dolphins (91-60). The Cyclones defence was smothering and both home teams couldn’t handle it with home team scorers in the low – Flames guard, Indiah Bowyer, had 10 points and for the Dolphins, both Shaneice Swain and Leichan ‘LJ’ Williams
