Adelaide enjoys plenty Ailan song for festivals
STORY BY DIAT ALFERINK PICS SUPPLIED Educator, performer and musician Eddie Peters hosted a Zenadth Kes Ilan Night in Bedford Park as part of the Adelaide International Fringe Festival last Sunday night. Eddie, a long time resident of Adelaide for over 30 years, said he was excited. Audiences were invited to enjoy an outdoor atmosphere and live performances by Eddie and his band, with local
Aboriginal performers Vonda Last, Katie Aspel and Michael Collard. Jessie Lloyd and the Ailan Songs Project made a special appearance, featuring our very own Amas Nazareth Adidi and Louise Manas from ya up tap. Benny Mills and wife Yvonne were also in the crowd for the event along with many local Torres Strait Islander families. The Ailan Songs Project also did two performances at last weekend’s WOMADelaide Festival.
