Fandom frenzy Fans celebrate Alden and Maine’s 8th year as love team

FANS celebrated the AlDub anniversary as the hashtag trended on Sunday, marking the eighth year of the unexpected love team formed by former Eat Bulaga! hosts Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. AlDub Nation, the devoted fandom of the AlDub love team, took to Twitter to commemorate the first interaction between Alden and Yaya Dub (Maine's character) using the hashtag #ALDUBatADN8Years.
Back in 2015, AlDub became the talk of the town when the duo appeared in “Kalyeserye,” a seg- ment of the longest-running noon-time show, “Juan For All, All For Juan.”
Alden and Yaya Dub's initial meeting on July 16, 2015, during the live episode of Eat Bulaga! was an accidental meet-cute that captivated audiences worldwide, making history in the process.
The love team's success extended to social media, where it was hailed as a "social media phenomenon," regularly securing the top spot on the trending list. In 2019, AlDub achieved a Guinness World Record for the "Most used hashtag in 24 hours" on Twitter, with the #ALDUBEBTamangPanahon receiving over 40,000,000 tweets during Kalyeserye's
