Join the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Science Education and Harvard Library at the Cabot Library Discovery Bar for an event highlighting the research work of fellow undergraduates across various scientific disciplines. Students will present their past and ongoing projects in three-minute slots. Pizza and drinks will be served while supplies last. Meet & Greet with Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj CGIS Tsai Auditorium, 6-8 p.m. The Massachusetts Albanian American Society “Besa” and Harvard Albanian Students Association are hosting a fireside chat with Mayor Erion Veliaj of Tirana, capital of Albania, in the CGIS Tsai Auditorium. Mayor Veliaj will discuss his past work with international organizations, the Albanian Parliament, and his current role as mayor. A reception with light refreshments will follow the event.
Split Supreme Court Grants States More Freedom to Prosecute Undocumented Immigrants
In a 5-4 decision led by Justice Samuel Alito, the Supreme Court sided with state prosecutors in Kansas v. Garcia, reinstating their convictions of undocumented immigrants who used false Social Security numbers on job applications. The question of jurisdiction over identity theft proved a contentious one for liberal and conservative wings of the Court.

DAILY BRIEFING Hundreds of supporters lined the streets outside of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren’s (D-Mass.) house in Cambridge Tuesday morning to greet her as she walked to her polling location at the Graham and Parks School. Warren — a former Harvard Law School professor who took third place in Tuesday’s state primary — hugged and took selfies with supporters as onlookers chanted “I believe that she can win” while she inched her way down the street with her husband, Law School Professor Bruce H. Mann. In other news, following reports of racism, sexism, and alleged favoritism within Harvard University Police Department, University President Lawrence S. Bacow said in an interview Monday that he supports the review of the department by outside
People Take to Social Media to Mourn Death of Trader Joe’s Founder
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam released a statement on Tuesday regarding his support of Virgina HB 386, which will prohibit anyone under the age of 18 from being subjected to the practice of conversion therapy. In passing this law, which officially takes effect on July 1st, Virgina becomes the first Southern and 20th overall state to ban conversion therapy for minors in the U.S.
AROUND THE IVIES UPENN The University of Pennsylvania is suspending University-affiliated travel to four countries due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian. In an email sent to students on Monday, UPenn officials announced that the school is recommending faculty and students avoid personal travel to China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea. The email also announced the school is creating a task force to review and update procedures regarding pandemics. UPenn is also advising students studying abroad to return home.

Two Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center employees have tested positive for coronavirus, The Dartmouth reported on Tuesday. A hospital employee who recently returned from Italy was the first reported case in New Hampshire. The second individual was said to be in close contact with the first individual at an event at Dartmouth’s business school. The first individual with the virus attended the event despite being directed by health officials to self-isolate. Dartmouth said it still plans to hold its spring term on campus.
YALE
New Haven, Conn., Mayor Justin Elicker called on Yale University to increase its contributions to the city at his annual budget address Monday, according to the Yale Daily News. Elicker said that existing revenue sources won’t meet the city’s goals. The city is requesting a $50 million contribution from Yale. The city is also asking for a contribution from the Yale New Haven Hospital.
