With hundreds of inland waterways and beachfronts in each coastal county, there's sure to be a spot you haven't yet explored. Find a beach or boat ramp to launch from, check your tides and weather, and get out there to see somewhere new! Don't forget your fl oat plan!

Paddling is obviously a great workout for your arms and shoulders, but done properly it's also great for building core strength. Using alternate muscle groups when you get tired can help avoid overdoing it. Also consider SUP yoga - search online for groups near you.

PROVIDE CREATE

Kayaks are a great option for the avid fi sherman and hunter too! They can be purchased pre-rigged, or you can adapt your own to meet your needs. You can fi sh for most any local species from a kayak, and hunting for seasonal waterfowl, such as duck or marsh hens, is a great alternative too.

Get your artists groove on by taking the tools of your medium with you. Snap great photographs or take along your paints and easel and beach somewhere to paint. Scenic vistas, plants, birds and other local wildlife make great subjects. Just keep your gear dry and stay a safe distance from local critters.

LEARN BOND

Pick up fi eld guides for local shells, fi sh, plants, birds and wildlife and see what you can identify on your paddle. Or go along with a local guide and absorb their knowledge, leaving you free to listen and look rather than read. Every experience on the water leads to learning new and interesting things!

When family and friends visit from out of town, a paddling trip is a great introduction to our beautiful coastal region. It's also a fun family outting, a great girl's day out, a diff erent kind of "date night" with that special someone, or team building trips for your company. Time on the water with others is time well spent!
