Dear Friends The year 2021 has been a devastating year that everyone would like to forget but certainly the IT industry would love to remember this year. At a time when the pandemic has taken away so many lives and crippled many businesses, it has some positive sides also for the business. The first good thing is that it amplified IT business and changed the outlook of the business towards IT. First time IT removed the label of being assistance to the business and added the label of being enabler of business. Organizations realised the real importance of technology. Starting from healthcare to aviation, agriculture to manufacturing, every segment adopted IT aggressively. Every CEO started thinking about how to manage business continuity. So starting from managing remote workers to accessing data from any place and any device, offering security to every device in every environment, became the mantra for every IT leader. So, during last 4 quarters, the CFOs had to open their doors for innovation and power of spending on acquiring new technologies so that their work does not stop for any kind of pandemic. Whether the work force is coming to office or working from home does not matter, the operations of the organizations do not stop. And it so happened that despite people not attending the office, they were able to prove their productivity. This resulted in the mindset change of the management towards many things that workers can work from their homes and remote locations. Secondly, technology is not an assistant but an enabler. Cloud computing is the future of computing, cyber security as a layer should start from word go of any IT project. Mobility from computing point of view is the real computing for the mass IT workers. Software industry also saw good consumption in the domestic market. Investment from the customers in monitoring software, zero trust access, storage and DR also gained momentum. Automation became a better mode of working for the organizations. So overall the year was a mix year as both sides of extremity were visible but it is always said – There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. So keep working and keep bringing value to your portfolio.
