Respiratory program earns award The Bon Secours St. Francis Respiratory Care Department said it was recognized as the S.C. Society for Respiratory Care Department of the Year for 2020. Each year, one department from South Carolina is chosen to receive this award for outstanding commitment to education, professional growth and development, leadership and collaboration, promoting public awareness, participation in their professional society, and student activities and leadership.

Cherry Lane Art now open

Erika DeRoberts announced the launch of her new fine art business, Cherry Lane Art, in Fountain Inn. DeRoberts said she left her 20-year corporate career in real estate in 2020 to pursue the creative field full time. Cherry Lane Art launched with a mosaic collection composed of hand cut paper rectangles and squares. In addition to her work with mosaics, DeRoberts is a painter, providing live-event painting, designs fabric and patterns.

Pregis facility complete

McCrory Construction completed construction for an $80 million manufacturing facility in Anderson for Pregis’ Performance Flexible operations. The company manufactures blown films for various industries, including food and medical, and supplies protective packaging solutions. McCrory said it completed the project in less than 10 months.

BBB honors 8 Upstate businesses

Better Business Bureau serving Upstate South Carolina recognized eight Upstate companies as the winners of its Business of Integrity Awards. The awards are given to businesses who demonstrate a sustained commitment to ethics and community leadership. This year’s recipients are Weichert Realtors, Shaun and Shari Group; Complete Heat & Air LLC; Upstate Service Solutions; Stokes & Co. CPA’s PC; Guy Roofing Inc.; RJ Construction; Upstate Granite Solutions; and ProGrin Dental.

Greenville man buys RoadDogJobs

RoadDogJobs, a specialty job board for traveling construction workers and companies, was recently acquired by Herb Dew IV of Greenville, according to a news release. RoadDogJobs (www. roaddogjobs.com) is an online resource for highly skilled construction workers, including welders, electricians, crane operators and a wide assortment of other trades.

hef Bill Twaler has been named director at Greenville Technical College’s Truist Culinary and Hospitality Innovation Center. Twaler has been part of the center’s team for the past year and has played a key role in developing, promoting and delivering the Quick Jobs programs, giving graduates entry-level skills for the culinary field in a matter of weeks, according to a news release. The center aims to match the employment needs of downtown Greenville’s restaurants and hotels for entry-level employees with the need of West Greenville residents for education that prepares them for employment opportunities and success. In addition, the course roster includes continuing education for culinary and hospitality professionals, personal interest classes and team building opportunities. An experienced restaurant chef and owner, Twaler completed his Master of Science in Education in curriculum and instruction at the University be in compliance with the S.C. Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act.

CDS named ‘Angel’

The Center for Developmental Services CDS has been named an “Angel” by the S.C. secretary of state. To be selected as an Angel, a charity must have devoted 80% or more of its total expenditures to charitable programs, must have been in existence for three or more years, must make good use of volunteer services, must receive minimal funding from grants, must have a significant presence in South Carolina, and the charity must

Countybank donates to habitat

The Countybank Foundation donated $20,000 to Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity. This donation completes a five-year plan to donate a total of $100,000, the foundation said. The annual donation has supported local home builds and the Greenwood Area Habitat’s Uptown Greenwood ReStore.

Legacy Reserve opens in Simpsonville Atlas Senior Living announced that senior-living facility Legacy Reserve at Fairview Park in Simpsonville is now open. Located at Harrison Bridge Road, Legacy Reserve includes 108 independent-living units along with an assisted-living and memory-care building with 48 assisted-living and 18 memory-care residences.

Simpsonville-based “Your Own FM” said it reached an agreement to provide voice-tracking services to “Country Barnyard Radio” in New Hampshire. Your Own FM principal voice talent Larry Tallant will do a program five nights a week, per the agreement. Voice tracking provides radio stations with a polished sound using experienced disc jockeys from larger cities who can produce content.

Premier Foundation rebrands

The non-profit Premier Foundation announced it has re-branded and will now be known as Premier Arts Collective. The new mission focuses on creating and implementing experiential programs that offer healing and therapy through the arts and music to serve the underprivileged and those affected by trauma and abuse. In 2022, Premier Arts Collective will implement new partnerships with Julie Valentine Center, Greenville Center for Creative Arts and Upstate Warrior Solution, according to a news release
