Junior Dance Company Auditions
The Junior Dance Company is an elite dance group consisting of students from Years 7-8. The students who are selected in this group have had prior dance experience in the styles of Contemporary and Jazz, have a high level of technical ability and are able to pick up choreography quickly. Students will prepare Jazz and Contemporary pieces to be performed at various Eisteddfods and Showcases throughout the year in 2024.
Auditions for this group will be held on Wednesday 22nd of March at lunch time in the Middle School Dance Studio.
If you would like to audition or would like more information, please email Ms Knight at: emily.knight@reddamhouse.com.au In the audition, Ms Knight will teach a Jazz combination so please bring appropriate clothes and shoes to dance in.
You may not attend this audition without booking a place with Ms Knight first. Please bring your lunch with you - you will be able to have something to eat beforehand.
Middle School Drama Production 2023
After the success of last year's Middle and Senior School Production 'A Series of Public Apologies' we are thrilled to announce our new production 'Scaredy-Cat' by Brendan Hogan which will be opened to students in Years 8-9 and presented in Week 2, Term 4. Auditions are being held Week 10 Term 1, Monday 3rd April.
Scaredy-Cat is a quirky, comic and whacky play that follows a group of young troopers as they gather for a weekend of camping and working towards earning patches whilst trying to trap an elusive black panther which causes all sorts of trouble.
Students should read the Rehearsal Schedule carefully. Availability is required for Tuesday, Thursday afternoons and some Sundays across Term 2, 3 and 4. The Audition Package document contains extracts of the script for you to read prior to the audition. No preparation is required. Scripts will be provided on the day of the audition.

Instrumental Competition 2023
Our 2023 Instrumental Competition entries are open. Of course, very few students would have a piece ready this early in the year, so this announcement serves as motivation and planning assistance for preparing an entry by the May deadline. All students are encouraged to take the term and school holidays to work on the piece of their choice, with their teachers, and submit an entry into this online competition. All students receive written feedback, as well as RHAP points. We look forward to watching and celebrating our students' work, and you can enter as well as read more at this link: REGISTRATION
Guitar Workshops
Ms Deb Yap, a talented professional guitarist who has been seen on major Australian stages and is performing in our production of Footloose, has continued her guitar masterclasses and workshops this week. Last week Ms Yap began holding guitar masterclass/workshops at both the Woollahra and Bondi campuses. Many of our guitarists came to learn and soak up Ms Yap's expertise, and present pieces that were either works in progress, ensemble music, or finished repertoire. These were supportive and encouraging sessions, with all guitarists given helpful tips and feedback on their playing. We are all appreciating Ms Yap's continued involvement.
Year 7 Concert Band
Please enjoy this photo and the video link of our stunning Year 7 Concert Band, doing an exceptional job for this early stage of the year. This large and committed group rehearses in Adelaide Hall due to their numbers, and are producing some of the best results we have ever had in a Year 7 band.
