S

ticks N’ Stones owners, Chris and Val Jafferis, have been making and selling furniture for over 30 years. Their unique designs can be attributed to the amazing work that nature creates. From junipers to aspens, they design, cut, and polish beautiful pieces into functional tables, lamps, chairs, bed frames, and accessories. Everything they make is one-of-a-kind! Chris specializes in live-edge organic wood furniture using wood sourced from around the United States. His furniture incorporates the natural beauty of the wood to create unique pieces of furniture and lamps. All the aspen wood Jafferis use come right from the Estes Valley thanks to a partnership with Cheley Colorado Camps. Many of the pieces also include turquoise inlays, in what could very well be the most wonderful combination of sticks and stones one could imagine. Jafferis got his start in Florida in 1973, at the time he sourced all of his products from the rivers of Northern Florida, where he found everything from unique woods to mastodon molars buried in the river silt. Jafferis made his way to Estes Park in the late 1980s. Like most, he was impressed with the aspen trees and twisted pines found in the valley. So he opened a retail store at 907 Moraine Ave. that featured these trees as furniture and home décor. “You find wood here in

In addition to Chris’ work, Sticks N’ Stones also features 20 other artists who work with natural materials. Both showrooms, each filled to the brim with elegant expressions of nature, for use inside and out.The Moraine Sticks-N-Stones is located on the way to RMNP’s Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and has plenty of parking. Every piece is unique and inventory is always changing so be sure to see this unique art while you are in town!
