Gathering in Sisterhood Leads to Meaningful Impact

In Pi Beta Phi, we deeply cherish the values of community and togetherness. From chapter-specific events and traditions to collaboration with members across North America, there is no replacement for being together with our sisters. After spending the summer months apart and reuniting on campus earlier this fall, there have been an abundance of opportunities to live our values at Kansas Beta.

Kansas Beta members cherish the time we spend with one another; being together on campus is always a special time filled with excitement and gratitude. I love coming back to campus with my sisters because of all the fun we have living together.

It is so fulfilling to be surrounded by women who not only have the best sense of humor and kindest hearts, but who also share similar values. This is truly what makes Pi Phi the perfect place for me and what makes coming back after a long summer so exciting.

Being together on campus not only allows us to foster genuine connection and Sincere Friendship, but also provides the opportunity for community engagement. As Pi Phis, we embrace our mission to enrich lives through community service. Giving back is at the core of who we are, and Kansas Beta is dedicated to fulfilling this vision for our sisterhood.

At Kansas Beta, there are many possibilities to engage with our community in purposeful ways. The fall term is especially meaningful; our chapter is looking forward to hosting our annual women’s self-defense class, in memory of our Kansas Beta sister, Ali Kemp, who passed away in 2002. Each year, The Ali Kemp Educational (TAKE) Foundation comes to present this class, and we invite all members in our community to participate. This year we have also partnered with Alpha Chi Omega to host Sips for Survivors, a soda bar to raise money for TAKE Foundation. Not only does this event root us in our value of Philanthropic Service to Others, but it also keeps us grounded in Sincere Friendship.

The Fall 2024 term has been truly fulfilling at Kansas Beta, and as Chapter President, I’m honored to keep witnessing Pi Phi’s commitment to bettering the lives of our sisters and community members. Nothing fills our hearts with more Pi Phi Pride than authentically living the values of our sisterhood.
