OCDC COVID Grant Relief Program (April 23, 2021) The Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC) has recently awarded and distributed grants of over $110,000 provided by the state to aid businesses in the Ocean City designated Main Street District. Approximately 40 businesses were assisted with these t funds as part of Phase I of this program. The balance of funds (about $25,000) is now available to assist businesses for Phase 2 of the COVID Grant Relief Program. These funds can be used to reimburse a downtown business for PPE and covid-related expenses in 2021. With limited grant funds, OCDC intends to spread the grant awards to as many businesses as possible. All awards from this program are at the discretion of the OCDC. These materials and equipment must have been used to protect customers, owners, and employees in these commercial establishments as a result of the current covid crisis. Such items add an additional financial burden to these Ocean City businesses, particularly small businesses. The OCDC’s Main Street district is generally defined as from the Inlet to 17th Street and from the bay to the Boardwalk, and south of 15th Street along the Boardwalk. An applicant cannot request funding for this program for identical items that the business has received compensation for from other covid–19 programs. The
