dvion has a three-decade dedication to serving scientists through mass spectrometry and has empowered labs across a wide range of applications to maximise efficiency and optimisation whilst minimising analysis time and laboratory space. Advion has developed a broad portfolio of chemistcentric, purpose-built compact mass spectrometers, nano-electrospray ionisation sources and ICP-MS solutions for elemental analysis in academic, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and clinical clients worldwide. Interchim SA is a company with subsidiaries in 5 continents and its own distribution network. Founded in 1970, the company has many years of experience and knowledge in the field of synthesis and the life sciences, as well as chromatography, separation, purification, identification and characterisation. As far back as 1990, Interchim SA introduced one of the first spherical silicon dioxides with small granulometry, which revolutionised analytical and preparative liquid chromatography.
In the early 2000s, Interchim SA developed the concept of ‘Ultra Performance Flash Purification’, becoming the first company to produce cartridges for Flash Chromatography on the basis of spherical silicon dioxide and small granulometry to obtain even more powerful separations, with greater loading capacity, and even better recoveries with unparalleled reproducibility. In 2008, Interchim SA developed and manufactured instruments with which the
flash cartridges and preparative columns could be used even more efficiently. This innovative instrumentation can reach a flow rate of up to 300mL/min and pressure of up to 400bar, offering incredible accuracy and reproducibility. These instruments are used as integrated solutions for multi-detection systems (Mass, ELSD, UV-dad, IR, etc.) as well as in systems for increasing productivity in laboratories (CarouXel) – control of 10 columns, AutoSampler, 5X, etc). Their success is worldwide. In 2018, Interchim SA developed a patent protected artificial intelligence,
‘Genius’, in the instrumentation. Since reading the TLC plate, it has never been easier and more intuitive to achieve the best possible separations in ‘flash and prep’ and to transfer methods of the analytical LC to the preparative and increase the productivity without reservation. Metrohm joins the fight against winter and Covid-19
M
etrohm SA will donate R200 from every electrode sold to the Solidarity Fund. It is hoped this will aid the country’s fight against Covid-19. Customers are reminded that Metrohm electrodes can be used on many other brands of meters. In such cases, Metrohm will provide the corresponding electrode cable free of charge. In addition, Metrohm has donated 200 winter blankets to the Rivers Foundation.

Ingrid Nsuku joins Metrohm
F
ollowing the completion of her in-service training, Metrohm is happy to announce that Ingrid Nsuku has been absorbed into the company in the permanent position of Application Chemist. Ingrid joins the Metrohm Academy in Gauteng and will provide critical skills training for clients. She will also be undertaking unusual Research and Development projects to showcase the solutions that Metrohm’s range of analytical instruments can offer across all industries.
