FROM THE COACH
2022 was an unforgettable year for our great club. We achieved our dreams and created history for Netball in this State. It was a premiership 25 years in the making and the hard work, commitment, sacrifice and passion from so many, came to fruition on 3 July in front of 14,000 of the best Netball fans on the planet. It was a very special time that we will cherish forever.
But here we are! Season 2023, a blank canvas, and anyone’s game. We’ve been grinding away for the past 20 weeks of pre-season, conditioning our bodies, building our skills, refining our combinations and challenging each other every single session.

We’ve achieved a lot over the pre-season, including winning Team Girls Cup on the Gold Coast. We’ve also played the WA and Victorian Men’s team and hosted the Adelaide Thunderbirds. All those opportunities have allowed us to utilise the depth within our squad and ticked many boxes in our preparation towards Round 1.
This year, nine of our premiership players return to the team and we welcome to the Fever family, Kim Jenner, who will be donning the green dress for the first time today. Kim replaces club legend Stacey Francis-Bayman, who announced her retirement at the end of last season. Kim has added real firepower to our backline and I think she’s ready for a big year!
So that brings us here today! Our season opener in front of our passionate, loyal, league leading supporters, THE GREEN ARMY! It’s a grand final rematch against Melbourne Vixens to kick off the season and the first time we are back at RAC Arena since the premiership win. Playing in front of you all last year was a privilege and a real highlight, and we can’t wait to do it all again.
I’d like to welcome the Melbourne Vixens to Perth, led by Head Coach Simone McKinnis and Co-Captains Liz Watson and Kate Maloney. We look forward to a great game of high-quality Netball today and wish you well for the season ahead.
So GREEN ARMY, it’s game time! We can’t wait to ATTACK the 2023 season and it starts today. So, get behind us, believe in us and let’s turn RAC Arena into our Fortress! Go Fever!
