The GIG WA Netball League Open Division Grand Final will see both teams looking to achieve glory which would mean two very different things for each club.

For the Roar, it will be the chance to go back-to-back and win a second premiership in as many years.
The side has been a force to be reckoned with this year and have barely put a foot wrong. They only lost two games in the regular season, one against the Demons and the other against Rangers.
For the Comets, the allure of the club’s first ever piece of silverware will be spurring them on.
After the regular season the team finished in second place, only one win away from the Roar.
Apart from a Round Seven loss to the Sharks, the thorn in their side has largely been the Roar.
Roar took bragging rights into the Qualifying Final match up, winning both regular season meetings between the teams this season. Roar only won the first game by five goals but finished 10 ahead in the more recent Round 13 match.
Ahead of the Final, the Roar were on a seven-game winning streak and in that time built up a superior percentage of 143.
They did suffer a blow however, with Zoe Cransberg suffering a foot injury which ruled her out of finals action.
Despite the history and form, it was the Comets who were able to win the Qualifying Final and record their first victory of the season against the Roar. It was an extremely close affair with the game going to extra time and then to sudden death as not even 74 minutes of Netball could split the two sides.
The Comets showed great resolve after conceding an early deficit of eight goals at quarter time, showing how dangerous the Roar side can be.
As the Comets came back level, neither team could grab hold of the match and at the fourth quarter siren, the Roar put through the equalising goal to keep the game alive.
The game eventually went to sudden death after extra time and the Comets quickly recorded a turnover which was converted to win the game.
With the Roar forced to take the long path to the Grand Final, like they did in 2022, they showed up in commanding form in the Preliminary Final. They quickly built a lead against the Sharks and managed to hold it despite a slight mid game scare.
Both teams will firmly believe they can lift the trophy come the end of the Grand Final and if the finals series is anything to go by, it is sure to be an enthralling game from start to finish.
