Triathlon season starts in Abu Dhabi this month
I
t’s the perfect sport for multi-taskers. If you’re a fan of running, swimming and cycling, one of the biggest triathlons in Abu Dhabi takes place this month. TriYas features a swim through Yas Marina, a cycle on the track at Yas Marina Circuit, and a run around Yas Marina. The Sprint category (known as TriWithRio) features a 750m swim, a 22km cycle and a 5km run, while the Olympics category features a 1,500m swim, a 38km ride and a 10km run. There are also categories for kids and team races. It’s the 11th year for this event, and while all 56_What’s On
the necessary safety precautions will be put in place, the atmosphere is guaranteed electric. All participants get a goodie bag with bib and bike numbers, a swimming cap, a finisher’s T-shirt, and a finisher’s medal.
