THE TROPHY The 2019 trophy was designed by acclaimed Emirati artist, designer and Mubadala employee Ashwaq Abdulla. The trophy design paid homage to Abu Dhabi’s ‘Volcano Fountain’. Built in the 1980s, the fountain was one of the Emirate’s pre-eminent landmarks at the time and became a symbol of co-existence, unity and tolerance, key values upon which modern Abu Dhabi continues to thrive.
