After the busy weeks at school, adjusting after the summer break, every family member will be ready for a well-earned rest and some fun! To keep everyone happy, we’ve rounded up some family friendly activities, inside and out, to ensure you’re not short of ideas this half term!

Keep your footie skills sharp with a fantastic day out at the National Football Museum

Join the team at the Science & Industry Museum from 23rd – 31st October for half term activities inspired by their new special exhibition Cancer Revolution: Science, innovation and hope. Discover different ways to see inside your body with microscopes, magnets and high-tech cameras at Science Stops with their expert Explainers. Look out for Get Curious on 26th and 27th October, when you can learn even more about how your body works. Plus, play and explore in their interactive gallery, Experiment, find out how cotton transformed Manchester, and uncover some of the incredible stories behind their historic site. What made Napoleon so famous? Discover the facts this half term

The National Football Museum is the perfect day out for footie-mad families this autumn. Step up to interactive challenges and games designed to sharpen your football skills. Test your nerve from 12 yards in the new and improved Penalty Shootout game. Soak up the pressure and score past the virtual goalkeeper. Use teamwork with family trails to unearth football treasures. Enjoy fantastic exhibitions and have your photo taken with the museum’s Premier League trophy. Napoleon in Exile tells the fascinating story of Napoleon and his time in exile on St Helena. Find out who cared for him until his death in May 1821 and visit a replica of his bedroom in Longwood House. The exhibition also features items which belonged to Napoleon himself including a tunic worn by Napoleon at the Battle of Marengo. The tunic will be on display at the museum until 5th November, as well as his pistols until early December. Napoleon themed craft activities will also be held at the museum during October Half Term.
