Be aware of fake registration number plates

Criminals are increasingly using hi-tech 3D printers to make false number plates, using them to commit crimes ranging from robbery to petrol drive-offs.

Victims often do not know it has happened until they cop a string of fines, or worse, face potential arrest.

If you have to advertise your vehicle or paste a picture on social media always delete the registration plates or you could pay a big penalty if your plates are cloned.

A RACQ spokesperson said that whilst there is very little motorists can do to protect themselves some care should be taken to reduce the possibility of your plates being copied.

Need a Roadworthy Certificate?

Maleny Service Centre have a Licenced Roadworthy Inspector on the premises and we know only too well what it takes to make your vehicle safe and roadworthy.

All vehicles (including trucks, motorbikes and trailers) must have a Safety or Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) if being sold, registered for the first time or being re-registered in Queensland. Registered Vehicles cannot be solid without a RWC.
