About LOFT Since 1953, LOFT has offered dignity and hope to individuals living with complex challenges. LOFT is one of the largest community service providers in Ontario, supporting people facing a combination of mental health, physical health and substance use challenges, poverty, and/or homelessness. LOFTs teams build customized supports that specifically address a person’s needs and offer them for as long as there is a need.

With our partners, we are proactive in finding solutions to community challenges. By doing so, we are able to reach individuals who fall through the gaps of our social and healthcare systems.
Sam’s story My name is Sam. One day my life fell apart and I lost everything that I had worked so hard to achieve. I began having brain seizures and fell into a deep depression. I was ready to give up on life, until one day by some miracle I was found and placed in the care of the M-DOT and then MATCH teams. These good people helped me get my life back in order, helped me with my medical problems, helped me with my housing problem and helped me get my confidence back as well as regain my will to live. I know they saved my life, to me they are like family, because if it wasn’t for them I would have felt totally alone and would have been ready to lay down and die. They gave me confidence and a will and purpose to live. They showed me that there are people who care and are willing to help anyone that needs it. I can’t say enough good things about these amazing professionals, but I will say thank you and that I will always be in their debt. I will always consider them as part of my family.
