WORLDLY ATTACHMENTS Yes, like the dusk that precedes every dawn Every desire thirsts and waits for a new one, The very day the mind is free from delusion The very purpose of life shall definitely dawn. For the world is infested with ego and conceit Joys and sorrows form part of worldly deceit, Discarding earthly passions, how tough is it! Lasting joy adorns, only when they all depart. Unless the illusory bonds are severed forever And the fastened rope of desires is cut asunder, Purification of mind is not at all possible dear Only a righteous life can enlighten, yes, ponder. Like the seasons, the phases of life too advance Narrow minded to reality, with egoistic glance, We cling to fruitless bonds of love and romance Losing the cream of life before realization dawns. Give up the worldly attachments and comforts Feel satisfied with a pious life, the ultimate fort, Surrounded by divinity, joy eternal shall float Saving the upright, from the clutches of ill-fate.
