Tina Fernandes

In the tranquil landscapes of Goa, where nature breathes life into every corner, Tina Fernandes has found her voice. A poet, storyteller, and passionate author, Tina’s work is an ode to life, imagination, and the simple yet profound beauty of the world around us.

From Dreams to Reality: The Journey of an Author

Tina Fernandes completed her Bachelor of Arts from Rosary College, Navelim, Goa, but her passion for writing was ignited long before her academic journey. Inspired by her mother in childhood, Tina began writing short poems for herself, exploring the depth of emotions and the wonders of nature. Her dream of becoming an author remained tucked in her heart for years, waiting for the right moment.

The pandemic became her opportunity to turn that dream into reality. It was during this challenging time that Tina co-authored a short story for the anthology “Engraved Words”, a collection of positive stories. Encouraged by this success, she continued to pursue writing more seriously. Today, she stands proudly as the author of her first solo poetry collection, “Whispers of the Heart: Beyond Imaginations”, published by BookLeaf Publications. Available as a paperback on Amazon and as an eBook, this collection reflects Tina’s unique blend of life, nature, and fanciful imagination, transporting readers into realms of wonder and introspection.

A Style Rooted in Life and Imagination

Tina’s writing style is deeply personal. Her poems often explore the relationship between human emotions and nature, adding an imaginative touch that takes readers on a journey to a fabled land. Inspired by great literary figures like Emily Dickinson, whose slant rhyme style fascinated her, Tina enjoys crafting verses that balance rhythm and meaning. Among Dickinson’s works, “Hope is the Thing with Feathers” holds a special place in her heart.

Her literary interests don’t end there. Tina is an avid reader of Sidney Sheldon’s suspense novels, having devoured titles like “Nothing Lasts Forever” and “Game of Life”. She also cherishes the adventurous stories of Ruskin Bond, finding joy in revisiting his timeless tales.

Overcoming Challenges with Patience and Persistence

Balancing family life and writing is Tina’s greatest challenge. She explains that writing requires time, patience, and a peaceful space—each poem or story demands thought, phrasing, rhyming, and reflection. Yet, she considers this struggle worthwhile, as it helps her channel her thoughts into creative expression.

Her biggest achievement so far was completing her poetry book through a “21 Days Write Angle Writing Challenge”, a disciplined approach that transformed her ideas into a proud published work.

When asked about her creative process, Tina believes deadlines and audience expectations are not barriers but frameworks that help creativity flourish. She emphasizes the importance of research and fact-checking, especially while drafting stories, ensuring her work remains credible and realistic.

Looking Ahead: New Stories in the Making

Currently, Tina is crafting a fictional story about a woman named Margaret, set in the 19th century, focusing on family life. Her goal is to make it as realistic as possible, marking her first attempt at writing a full-length story. Her thoughts, experiences, and motivations fuel her writing habit, driving her to continue evolving as an author.

Connecting with Readers in the Digital Era

One of the most rewarding aspects of Tina’s journey has been the ability to connect directly with her readers through social media platforms. Unlike traditional publishing models, she enjoys real-time conversations with people who appreciate her work, allowing her to learn what resonates and how to adapt. From posts and reels to stories and messages, Tina actively promotes her work, making her voice heard in a digital world.

Words of Wisdom for Aspiring Writers

Tina’s advice to budding writers is simple yet profound: “Write your heart out. Never stop writing. The process may be challenging, but it brings a unique sense of freedom and achievement. Remember, the most important creations happen in the quiet solitude of your writing desk.”

A Nature Lover at Heart

Beyond writing, Tina finds peace in the embrace of nature. A travel enthusiast and avid gardener, she believes that nature offers solace and inspiration—a recurring theme in her work. Her dedication to writing stems from a deep-rooted passion, supported by her husband, who remains her greatest motivation and strongest supporter.
