“Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live,” 2 Timothy 3:16

When I was younger in the Lord, the story of Job brought great confusion and fear to me I thought God was playing a game with Satan Does the Lord give you something then take it away, then give it back to you again? That doesn’t make sense. Job loved the Lord, worshipped Him and didn’t do evil. Satan told God he was looking for someone to destroy and God said, “Have you thought of Job? No one on earth is like him, he is a truly good person who respects Me and refuses to do evil,” Job 1:8.
God inspired the story of Job to be written so that we could learn from it We need to be careful and learn the correct lesson from all situations Satan can do what he wants with the things of this world He can use the weather; he can bring on illness, use fire and evil people to attack us He used all of these against Job “I came naked into this world, and naked shall I leave The LORD alone gives and takes away; praise the name of the LORD ” Job 1:21 Everything in the Bible is the truth. God did not take from Job, Satan did. Satan brought against Job storms, fires, thieves that took his children and all his worldly possessions Satan brought illness to Job so he couldn’t work The words from Job’s friends only brought pain and confusion God let Satan come against Job and Job’s reaction to the situation determined the outcome God let Adam and Eve sin in the Garden of Eden and plunge the whole world into darkness Nothing can be done against the will of God because that would mean that it was stronger than God’s will. God warned Adam, “Don’t do it, the day you do you will surely die.” Adam had a choice He could do right or he could do wrong. God would have had to violate Adams free will to stop him. God is all knowing and He knew what Job would do through Satan’s test. Without free will, man would not be accountable for their actions.
Jesus came to this world and took back from Satan all that was stolen Through Jesus Christ we have the authority to rule over evil It is now our responsibility to use that authority Job, like us, knew what it was like to feel the ever presence of the Lord and he knew what it was like to experience the coldness of doubt and depression. Job knew, like us, what it felt like to have and to lose. Through it all he called upon the Lord He spoke out loud to the Lord. Job never hides from God Whatever he thought about, he talked to God about it. He begged to die, he questioned God, he cried out to the Lord and the Lord heard his cries When the Lord answered, it was not what Jobwas asking for,” Who is God here?” God recaptured all that He does that Job does not
"From out of a storm, The Lord said to Job: ‘Why do you talk so much when you know so little? Now get ready to face Me Can you answer the questions I ask? How did I lay the foundation for the earth? Were you there?” Job 38:1-4 God showed Job that humans cannot understand many things He does He didn’t explain why He allowed Job’s suffering; instead He criticized Job for talking too much. He also said Job had remained His faithful servant.
God does nothing that is not motivated by love It is because of that, that we can be assured He knows, He cares, and He loves us. Each time He said, “My grace is all you need My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me,” 2
Corinthians 12:9
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them,” Romans 8:28 The Lord restored Job’s wealth to an abundance of what he had before. He had more sons and beautiful daughters and lived for another 140 years. I am more mature in the Lord now but I still get confused over life. The last several years have brought so many changes in the world, in USA politics, in the churches of Jesus Christ, and great sorrow in my personal life I have lost a sister to AIDS, an uncle to suicide, a father to heart failure, a mother-in-law to sudden death, a son-in-law to drunk driving and a home full of memories to a house fire I will boast and say I am weak so that the power of Christ can work through me.
