Explore the country’s (and your soul’s) valleys with Joshua na die Reën’s latest album, Die Vallei. The album was launched across the country, including a show at Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria. It was an emotional happening, with lots of tears and lots of laughs – an authentic experience carefully stored in many a memory bank. The first single to be released was By My, inspired by an email request from a listener, asking Joshua na die Reën (Jacques de Villiers) to write a song for his wedding anniversary after something happened to permanently damage the trust in the marriage. JNDR shot to fame in 2014 with his self-titled debut album, which won numerous awards. Q @joshuanadiereen

TRAIN’S FIRST-EVER PERFORMANCE IN SA

With quite an apt tour name – I know, it’s been a long time coming – Train is coming to South Africa at last! The famous band will be in Cape Town on 9 May 2024 and in Joburg on 11 May 2024 and this will mark their very first live performance in South Africa. Frontman Pat Monahan says: “After 25 years of releasing Train’s first album, we are finally going to South Africa, a place we’ve all dreamt of since we were little kids. What a beautiful and treasured gift music has been for us. We can’t wait to be there and perform for what we know will be an incredible and beautiful group of people.” Tickets are available on breakoutevents.co.za.
