Sainab Sheikh is the president of the Rotary Club of North Melbourne. She is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of Zainab Sheikh Foundation, chairperson of the Somali Women Development Association (SWDA), a business owner, a postgraduate student as well as a mother. A refugee from Somali 20 years ago, Sainab left her homecountry of Somalia in 2001, when it was in the grips of a horrific civil war. She arrived in Perth and is now settled in Melbourne.
