When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, ‘Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.’ For he was astonished, and all those who were with him, at the draft of the fishes which they had taken; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. where I had written in the margin, “Broken Nets and Sunken Ships.” This was in Luke 5:1-11 and the call of the first disciples. The date was September 3, 2006, and the preacher was Bobby Stamey. Luke 5:1-11: “And it came to pass that, as the people pressed upon Him to hear the Word of God, He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret and saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen were gone out of them and were washing their nets. And He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land.

Missionaries often leave all to follow the call God has put on their lives. They—like the first disciples—are going forward to tell others about the saving grace of a loving Savior. They need our prayers and support as they serve Jesus in the ministry. God has work for all to do. Do it all with a loving heart unto the Lord, for it is a work that is not in vain. About The Author
