John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Have you ever had a really bad day, and you wondered how things got so out of control and bad? It started out pretty well, but those phone calls kept coming in with bad news. You felt the pain of the person who was calling you and promised to pray for them and the situation, trying your best to remember that when things seemed so out of control, God was still in control. I remember hearing a preacher say that prayer is allowing God to get in the boat with you. Out there in that storm with Him with you, you are not alone. That is what it is about fear: it makes you feel so alone in your pain. The whole world keeps going on, and you feel no one cares. You just need to be able to reach out to that one caring, listening, loving soul.

When someone goes through the storm with you, they know all about what is going on. They hear and see all that you hear and see. They can feel your fear with you.

What I was so amazed about was as I sat that night, remembering in my mind the many events of the day, out of the blue, it seemed friends started contacting me. That contact meant so much. It reminded me that I was not alone. That caring word they shared meant more than they will ever know. My mom always told me that if God puts someone on your mind, then you need to take time and pray for them. You may not know what they might be going through, but God does. That quiet prompting could be the Holy Spirit

leading you to reach out for that person. I am thankful for those people who reach out to the Good Lord on my behalf in prayers.

In this world, as the Scripture says above, ye shall have tribulation; no one is exempt. I am so thankful that we can also have peace when we trust God to help us through.
