Psalm 118:24: “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

How many people love a cool morning in the South? I do for sure! I love walking in the morning before I start the rest of my day. I am fresh with revived energy, and the coolness will surely get my blood to pumping. My cat knows that I am out, and she usually comes to me to let me know she has needs also. I try to always have her food fixed and ready to feed her when she comes to me to let me know she is ready to be fed. I’m thankful that she usually catches me at a good time in my walk. I put the food out for her, and she usually will start eating after I have given her a good back rub.

Today, as I started back on my walk, I looked up to see her running after me. So today, it was more important that she have my attention than for her to eat. So as I finish up my walk, she flits about me, letting me know that she is still there. As I end my walk, I find steps to sit down and rest on in the morning sun. She comes and stretches out beside me on the steps. She loves the petting I give her as we just enjoy the beauty of the moment. It seems that it hasn’t been that long ago that I would be so busy getting ready to go to work that this quiet moment I was having was only a hopeful dream. That was now nine years ago, and I can’t believe how fast that time has passed.

I had some plans for my retirement, and I am still hopeful to get to do some of those things. However, I remember when I was still working, I would drive home from work and see my grandfather sitting out in his front yard. I remember saying to myself that I need to stop by and visit with him. I am sure that would have made his day. The most important thing that we can give people is our time. Take time to make that phone call, write that letter, or make that visit. In doing so, you show them that they are valuable to you. God visits us each and every day. The Bible says that His mercies are new every morning.

Lamentations 3:22-23: “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.”

Believe me, I need God’s mercies and forgiveness every day. God also gives us many blessings. Just look at His beautiful creation, and your heart will rejoice! I pray that today, you will take time to enjoy the beauty of the day which the Lord hath made. Your heart will be filled with joy in doing so.
