De la classique des années 90 ne reste plus que le nom de Malijai où débutait l’épreuve. C’est par un tout autre versant, depuis le petit village de Saint-Jeannet dans les Alpes de Haute-Provence, qu’il faut désormais s’élancer. Avec d’entrée 6 kilomètres en montée très rythmée pour atteindre le Col d’Espinouse (838 m). La descente est un peu plus compliquée, avec notamment une dizaine d’épingles à négocier. La dernière partie de 5 kilomètres, relativement rectiligne et rapide le long de la Bléone, reprend en fait et sans difficulté le début de “Malijai / Puimichel”, disputée de nuit lors de l’édition 2020 du Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo… From the classic stage of the 90s, only the name of Malijai remains, where the start was set. Drivers will now set off from another side of the mountain, in the small village of Saint-Jeannet, in the Alpes de Haute-Provence. From the start, they will first climb 6 kilometers of a rather pacey road to reach Col d’Espinouse (838m). The downhill portion is a bit more complicated, with over ten hairpins to negotiate. The last portion of 5 kilometers, relatively straight and fast along the Bléone river, is in fact, without too many difficulties, the initial portion of the «Malijai / Puimichel» night stage during the 2020 edition of Monte-Carlo Rally ...
