Photos by Stephanie E. Jennings His Way Recovery Center’s Golden Ticket Dinner with Rick Burgess was held at the Von Braun Center’s North Hall on August 27. Over 400 people attended this fundraising dinner to meet and hear Rick Burgess deliver a message of hope and share about his own past struggles with addiction. Members of the His Way staff also related stories and information about the work at His Way and the thrift stores, The Saving Way, that support the ministry. WaveLink, Inc. was the event sponsor. The plated dinner, which included spinach-and-cheese-stuffed chicken and chocolate cake, was catered and served by the VBC, while the decorative table centerpieces were hand-painted by Libby Newman and the greenery was provided by Bridgett Thornton of Fow Wow Designs.
