Rebecca Ashton Rebecca is a Pilates instructor, dressage coach, FEI competitor and equestrian journalist. For the past 12 years she’s travelled the globe covering major shows as a writer and photographer. She loves immersing herself in different equestrian cultures and interviewing those at the top of their game – and on this occasion it’s Christine Bates, one our country’s most talented eventers. Amanda Mac As editor of Equestrian Hub Magazine, Amanda’s two longstanding passions, one for horses the other for writing, come together perfectly. Although much of her time is spent busily editing away behind the scenes, in this issue she has the very great pleasure of talking to our wonderful Delivering Dreams winner. Rachel Roan Rachel has ridden her whole life. A passionate horse enthusiast who’s working to establish a small stud of dressage bred performance horses, her interest in writing and storytelling grew during her university media studies. Well aware that worm burdens can lead to equine health problems, she spoke to Dr Calum Paltridge to find out more.

Jessica Morton Jessica is a dual national New Zealand-Italian freelance journalist, equestrian traveller and writer. Currently based in Tuscany, she’s perfectly positioned to bring us the very latest in European and international equestrian trends and innovations. In this issue she gets techie with an amazing wearable sensor, before diving into the world of wet weather fashion.

Dr Clarissa Brown-Douglas Clarissa is an equine nutritionist with Kentucky Equine Research Australia. Her PhD from New Zealand’s Massey University focussed on equine growth and development. As part of KER’s equine nutrition team, Clarissa has worked with feed manufacturers, breeders, trainers, and riders around the world. In this issue, she discusses nutrition for our golden oldies.

Susie Hoevenaars For nearly 25 years, Susie has been judging top level dressage events around the globe. At home in Australia she’s served on multiple committees, including both the NDC and ADC, has been the Chair of Selectors, and is an FEI mentor and judge educator. In this issue, she gives us a glimpse inside the mind of a dressage judge. John Vallance John is an internationally recognised show jumping course designer who has served as Chair of Equestrian Australia’s National Jumping Committee on three occasions. Australia’s only FEI 4* Level course builder and technical delegate, he started course designing with the Melbourne Show Jumping Club some 35 years ago, and in this issue offers up some of his golden rules.

Mathilde Gregoire With over 40 countries visited, 20 on horseback, Mathilde combines her two greatest passions: horses and travelling. Through writing, her mission is to inspire women and solo travellers to follow their dreams and embark on equestrian journeys around the world. In this issue, Mathilde’s takes us on a trek across Iceland’s Highlands, and looks at the talented Sportaloosa.

Christine Armishaw Christine is a horse trainer, coach and passionate eventing and jumping rider. A Kiwi girl based in NSW, she teaches others not just how to ride, but also how to understand their horse. In this issue she covers some great topics, including staying motivated in winter, and introducing your horse to lateral aids.

Kelly Breuls Kelly has studied Equine Myofunctional Therapy and has been a groom for five years, most of them in show jumping in the Netherlands, Belgium and Australia. In 2021 she joined Megan Jones Eventing as head groom and is enjoying the change of discipline. Passionate about correct bandaging, she gives her expert advice on both bandages and boots. Pamela Bice Pamela Grew up in Goulburn, and with her husband built and worked a Thoroughbred spelling property in the NSW Southern Highlands. Addicted to dressage from an early age, she continues to compete a handful of horses, and coaches students in the principles of empathy dressage. In this issue she discusses the new rider weight and size guidelines.

Jamie Hocking Jamie was a 2020 Delivering Dream Scholarship recipient. He’s the standing Australian National Champion in equestrian vaulting, holds a world ranking, and is determined to reach the top of his chosen sport. Based in Denmark, he has been investigating the importance of mindset, and brings us an interesting update on what he’s discovered so far. Rebecca Nadge Hailing from WA, Rebecca evented at 2* and worked in racing stables before becoming a journalist for newsrooms across Australia and New Zealand. She now works full time as a pen rider at a cattle feedlot while juggling freelancing and a degree in Equine Science. Don’t miss her conversation with Jake Hunter, a young Aussie show jumper making his mark in Europe.

Suzy Jarratt Suzy has lengthy and varied form as a writer and presenter. She works for several Australian and overseas companies, is the author of three published books, and three years ago won an international award for equestrian journalism. In this issue she investigates Helgstrand at Turnberry, Australia’s newest centre for elite equestrian breeding and sales. Jo Mckinnon Jo is a multi-award winning horse racing and equestrian broadcaster and documentary maker. She’s also a former top-level show rider who’s competed all over Australia with her hacks. As a racing commentator of many years standing, she loves positive life after racing stories. Asked to judge at the recent Inglis Thoroughbred Classic, she reports on this innovative event.

Cath Henshall Cath is an equine behaviour researcher and university lecturer in equine behaviour and welfare. She previously ran a horse training and rider coaching business and taught equine studies at TAFE. She has recently completed a PhD project investigating the effects of stress on how horses learn, and brings us up to date with some of her findings.
