Seamus Collins

I am a native of Moygannon and always loved drawing and art from an early age, winning my first watercolour competition at the age of ten.

A career in Architecture kept freehand drawing very much to the fore and rendering presentation drawings in watercolour fed my love for the medium.

Although I had no formal art education, constant practice and attendance at recreational night classes in the last twenty years has rekindled my passion for art.

I became a member of Rostrevor Art Group in 2013 and in the last five years participated in Dublin Plein Air Painting Festival, a personal highlight was winning first prize in 2021 at this event.

Weekly plien air sessions with Heather Cirefice also contributes to my watercolour development.

I am at present inspired by American contemporary watercolourist Thomas Shaller.
