My work is inspired by the natural beauty of the area, the deep Celtic heritage that permeates the locality and the dedicated striving of a committed and caring community to collaborative living and a respect for diversity.

Saint Bronach

Saint Bronach. My design reflects the rich Celtic history, Saint Paul’s church in the craig in 1732. I’ve included St Paul and texts from the bible throughout my work including the Lord’s Prayer, Apostles’ Creed. I’ve included parish priests, monks, international religious denominations and the late Rev Conon Dermot Jameson who believed in cross commotions as Mary MacAleese has mentioned. St. Bronach and her cross is prominent in my piece. As is the holy well and St. Bronach bell which is in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea, Rostrevor. Kilbroney parish church is personal to me and to others, I’ve made a collage mixed media with religious aspects throughout and have interwoven with the above and with blessed relics. I’ve included local Catholic priests, vicars, bishops, monks, and many denominations in faith togetherness. There are a lot of references to symbolism within the piece I’ve aged my piece representing 200 years from the Rev. Canon Graham to the present day, using the Gaelic language in part, trying to include photographs of a vibrant cross community. We would like to whole heartily thank the entire Rostrevor community for their kindness in raising funds for St. Bronach Kilbroney Parish Church, Rostrevor, in its 200 years.
